Hey everyone! I am new to the 4runner world. I just picked up my 2022 TRD sport a couple weeks ago and doing all the research. I have the XREAS so going to hold off on a leveling kit. I don't do much offloading, this will mostly be my mom car hauling my kids around so I wanted to make some changes just for looks. With that being said...wanting bigger tires. 265/70/17 OR 275/70/17 with no to little rubbing. Tips? Leaning towards nitto g2 because I don't need anything too aggressive with just mainly driving in town. Also does anyone have pictures with bronze TRD pros on there a lunar rock?

    Welcome..

I would vote for 265/70R17 SL tires and see how it looks. If it looks good to you I'd say don't touch Xreas and not use any leveling kit. Xreas ride really good compared to other stock suspension options.

I'm not a fan of Nitto Terra Grapplers. I only use them few hundred miles and didn't like them especially because they are not a safer option for winter conditions here in CO. I wanted to try a new tire so I got Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. So far they are not good as KO2 imo but it might change when I put more miles this winter as so many people here in CO say they are the best tire for CO.

Yeah I've been going back and forth on tires.... nitto g2, ko2 and Toyo at3. I live in California so not really worried on weather and Toyota is having a sale right now on tires but 3 get 4th free so a set of g2 only comes out to about 660. I think leaving stock until XREAS fails is the smartest thing to do for the time being. I was leaning towards 265 as well to play it safe but see so many people say 275 fit with no rub.

I have 285s with lift on my limited for 275 is doable with a little inner fender liner mod. The problem is 275 have poor options. Most tires are Load E which will kill the ride comfort and Load C options like Falken Wildpeaks are extreamly heavy, in some cases heavier than Load E tires which impacts unsprung weight.

Yeah that's what I've found. Kinda wanting to stay away from E for that reason. Love the look of ko2 but seem kinda overkill for my vehicle purpose. G2 kinda seems to meet in the middle of ability of Offroad but still give me that FiFi look for pavement and driving.

    KO2s aren’t overkill. They’re only ATs.

I think OP meant you don't get soft ones like Nitto Terra Grappler or Falken Wildpeaks. KO2 are minimum Load C.

My driving style is very aggressive. I have about 30K miles on them so far, and they are holding up well. No issues with balancing, and they are great both on and off road. Minimal road noise, and very stable. I am using the stock size of 265/70/17, but they are a little larger than the stock tires due to the fact they are AT. I know you said you don't do much off road, but I have had no issues with them in the rocky Arizona desert. I hope this helps!

Do you have a leveling kit or lift installed on your 4Runner?

Love the white on tires. What do you think about the bronze trd wheels on lunar rock? Black is back ordered for months

Thanks man! I saw that picture floating around and couldn't tell if it was just dirt or the actual bronzed rims haha

Lol no problem, I kind of like it. Different than the usual black TRD Pro wheels everyone has (not knocking them I actually have them on mine lol)

I know people either love or hate it. Everyone has the black which I like but seems like everyone's go to. Not busy if going bronzed will be too "busy" kinda wanna be different and go for it.

You could probably also easily trade someone with black pro wheels if you end up not liking the bronze later on

Just a small idea. Down the line will you get bigger tires like 285/70R17 tires? If that's the case TRD Pro wheels are not recommend / some tire show refuse to mount. (285s require minimum 7.5 wide wheels like TRD Offroad wheels)

Wonder if you will be interested in after market wheels when you are spending money anyways. I remember there were after market wheels that allow to use Toyota center cap to look like its oem. I don't have personal experience so not going for details. Just wanted to point out that TRD Pro wheels are not recommended for bigger tires in case you don't know. (But some owners use them though)

Agreed. Stick with 275 or 265 tires, in my opinion, if you want the pro wheels

I have no plans on ever going up to 285. 275 is the biggest I will go. I can barely get in the thing now and have no plans on getting running boards or step

What's your opinion on the bronze against the silver emblems. I know in the pros they come in black but with this model they did it in chrome

People hate me for liking / suggesting black emblems to others (even though I don't have them). So not going to say that here.. LoL :D:D
