My vote goes to TRD Offroad Premium.
    What trim have you got?
We will count the votes at the end. Hopefully TRD Offroad Premium beats the Pro and wins :)

Well, I got the OR to save even more $. Mine was $37,800 out the door on 12/31/20, Now, spending on suspension and armor to make it as or more capable than a Pro without breaking the bank...

    Cheers,

I'm not doing anything hardcore, either. The only thing I've destroyed were the stock skids. Having armor allows you to have a lot more fun. :D

They don't hurt mileage as bad as a roof rack. It's like having another passenger or 2 in the car. If you don't need them, though, it's not worth it.

Hmmm, I'll be in the minority, but the Limited gets my vote. AWD, leather, dual zone, heated/cooled seats. I can add what I need as I need it. Bonus: SWMBO loves it.

Tell me more. I don't know what to do with that. 110lbs max weight. Seem to have the same cross bars as other 4runners. Looks like the same mounting brackets to be used to mount a storage box like a Thule box. Too tall for its function, it would hit the garage door if I lift. So either I would have to remove the top bar or remove the roof rack entirely to lift.

My wife loves the Limited. She can just drive in winter without having to worry about 2wd or 4wd. Only complaint she wasn't comfortable loading with her garden supplies she bought from hardware store. Now changed those 20 to 17, life is good. She fills the cargo area with top soil bags and mulch and all that garden supplies are tires still got plenty of rubber.

I believe the factory crossbars are the weak link. I eliminated them and attached my roof basket directly to the side rails. Much stronger in my opinion

I am very happy with my SR5. It is my 4th 4Runner. I used to do some serious off roading with my 1st, which was a 1986 with a lift and other mods. I still have my 1998 Ltd and have replaced all of the suspension. It wears Falken Wildpeaks. It will take me anywhere I care to go.
My wfe has the exact same 1998 Ltd. Only difference is that hers is white and has only 130k miles on it.
So, my trim of choice is SR5, which is very capable for my needs. Don't care to take on Moab or any place like it.
    I just love 4Runners...that's all.

Based on the extensive research I've done the best answer appears to be the weight limit was reduced to account for the PRO's (albeit small) lift, as well as the more to the rear placement of the rack. Anyway, right or wrong...that's my WAG and I'll stick to it until someone comes up with a better theory.

What I think is dumb is that Toyota doesn’t include some thing relatively easy to install, like a rear locker, into the SR5 trim. And that’s been the case for years now.

There is no reason some of the more basic off-road features shouldn’t be standard, or at least optional, on every level rather than bundling them into specific models.

For example, I paid a bit over 38,000 out the door for my daughter’s 2020 SR5 4 x 4, if it came with a rear locker, it would like be the perfect build platform. But instead if she wants one, I’m going to have to go after market which may or may not be reliable depending on who you believe.

I have not had great success with air lockers on my old Land Cruisers.
