They look good. That’s the Eagle Eye clear, correct? I installed their taillights with the smoked housing last month. Very pleased with the product (and price). Easy install as well.

The water and condensation was my biggest worry so I applied a light layer of clear silicone along the creases and any spots that looked like water could get in.

I'd take those off before they get stolen. I live in a "good" area, and still had mine disappear within maybe a month. And if your hi lift is accessible, put a padlock on the end of the bar so they can't just slide the entire mechanism off and leave the bar behind. Things I learned the hard way.

Thank you for the heads up. I remove the hi-lift after I am done going off-roading. I live it a rural area and my nearest neighbor is pretty far away from me. I would be more worried about these being stolen when I go out to the city. Not so much at home. One day those thieves will pay the price for their theft. Sorry you got your stuff stolen.

I added power folding mirrors to my wife’s ‘21 this past weekend. I had installed them on her ‘20 last year. When she got the ‘21, she said that needed to be one of the top priorities for her. She uses it for mainly looking back at the truck to make sure the vehicle is locked. Easy to tell if you have folding mirrors if you miss hearing the beep of the keyless. Install really pretty easy and straightforward.
    Good luck!

No condensation so far. It hasn't been cold here though. We've been having a heat wave this whole week.

Didnt do this today, but last Saturday I spent some quality time with the 4runner. I changed the oil and filter, greased the driveline, and rotated tires.

And I finally decided to take care of adjusting the parking brake. Thanks to @Agent_Outside for the youtube refresher. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=it4BMOrM41g

perfect! I ended returning mines to USR but they gave me the run around and said that was a normal process and it will go away in a couple weeks, smh.. I had to send them pictures before they authorized the refund..
def will look into the eagle eye light and put some clear silicone like you suggest around the edges.. thanks!

Does the parking brake pedal feel different now? Fewer clicks to get it to lock down tight?

Those look similar to the RCI design, if they don't have drainage holes in the bottom you might want to drill some to prevent standing water and make mud cleanout easier. My RCI guards rusted my lower shock mounting bolts in, SoCal, in less than a year.

I've been playing around with carista for few days. It's probably better with a newly designed car but on the 4Runner there is not much customization that you can do. I got rid of the driver's side seatbell ding and can open the windows/sunroof from remote but not close them. Need to use the key to close. All the other annoying warnings that I was hoping to get rid of such as the full on panic mode if you open the door on while on drive, or not being able to open the rear window from outside unless all the doors are closed, etc... cannot be customized.

Today was the first oil change at 1,005 miles. I did this myself. Since the fing dealer would not sell me the filter wrench i got one at NAPA. Fit perfect and it is some sort of casting material.

Had Krown rust proofing performed. Said vehicle will drip for a week and oh boy does it drip.

Before adjustment I could push it to the floor, I mean all the way, and it still wasnt enough to hold the car when idling in drive or reverse. Did not trust it to even hold the vehicle on a slight incline. Forget about using it in an emergency situation.

After adjustment, the pedal finally feels like it should. Now the brakes start to engage after a few clicks, and actually does it job. They are still not as strong as old school cars with pure drums in the back, but as strong as any other car with drum-in-disc design.

2021 with 13,500 miles. The parking brake adjustment was barely acceptable coming off the lot. Not worth making an appointment for it though.

They are designed with a drainage slot on the lowest spot on the guard. Thank you for sharing your story.

yep- see my earlier rant in an oil thread.
101% Ridiculous! In essence they said “it’s a tool, we dont sell tools” I was loud for all to hear and unfavorable in my response…

Evans Toyota here in Fort Wayne is completely off my list of options. There’s another dealer on other side of town which Ill try for service. They completely failed on sales and lost me forever with the shenanigans they tried to pull.

Nothing major put on a unibrow and it does not touch the paint. Very easy to install.

Maybe I'm not understanding the whole story, but if they don't sell them, they don't sell them :notsure:

I don't see a reason to get upset. Just buy one from someone that does sell them :notsure:

If it’s a dealer and the tools are
Available, they cannot refuse to sell them to you. By available, I mean it’s a tool the mfg requires the dealer to have. I believe it’s covered by the Magnussen-Moss warranty act.

The Act is designed to let you maintain your car (or go somewhere other than the dealer) without voiding your warranty. As long as you or your mechanic follow the mfg service recommendations, they cannot say “you didn’t go to the dealer” if you have a warranty claim.

Hmm, interesting. I have never heard of this part of the MMWA before.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but it sounds like an unrealistic clause to me.

For example, lets say your cylinders are shot and need to be re-honed. You're saying the dealer is required to sell you honing tools?

No. The honing tools are all commonly available. However, if they call it out in the service manuals as a special tool, then yes.

By the way, there is nothing that says those tools have to be cheap.
