That's where I'm at as well, I'm really tempted to throw down another reservation since it'll land me in the '22-'23 timeframe for receiving it and I'll have my 4Runner pretty much paid for by that point. I'm just really not sure they'll have all the kinks worked out by that point...Or even their worthless reservation system. *laughs*

Bronco Sasquatch will stomp the Bro Pro.

Warthog will piss on its grave.

What are they putting a 3 cylinder in? The Sport? The Sport does not compete with the 4Runner, the actual Bronco does.

Yeah, but you still have to look at those cheap looking fender flares.

It will obviously dominate the 4Runner off-road, but I don't think it will be as nice as a daily. I just picture that plastic roof being pretty noisy, and not as well insulated as an actual roof. And, good potential for leaks.

It's probably well worth it to the right buyer. But, if off-road capability was my only concern, I'd be in a 2 door Wrangler on 35's or bigger.

Right. That's the Sport. Totally different vehicle than the new Bronco. 100% different. Smaller and unibody.

I believe the Bronco "Sport" is to compete with the Jeep Renegade, which does seem to be popular with women.

So? The Bronco Sport is more like a Rav4. 181 HP and 190 LB/FT is plenty for that little thing.

And, that's completely irrelevant to this thread as this thread is to discuss the new Bronco, not the Bronco Sport.

Ford is partially to blame for the confusion between the bronco, which is a true off-road vehicle, and the bronco sport, which is a crossover.

Supply chain problems and other delays pushed back the bronco release date, so they just started acting like the bronco and the bronco sport are the same thing to try to make up for lost sales.

When I put my deposit down for the bronco, the first thing that happened was the Ford dealer called me and started pushing me to buy the bronco sport which was already available on the lot. So the blame goes all around.

I ultimately canceled my reservation because I found out you cannot get the manual transmission and Sasquatch for the 2021 model year.

I may revisit my decision to buy one in the future.

I had a 1977 Bronco for five years in my twenties and a 1976 Bronco for 1.5 years in my 40's. Almost 60 now and would love to have that 77 Ranger back - my favorite vehicle that I ever owned!

So Toyota wins with its traction control but loses with towing.

God forbid we have to ask for help from a Ford driver. ;)

I would have liked to see how a SR5 with ATRAC performed on those runs. I realize that videos and pictures don't always capture the actual features like being there, but the runs didn't look that hard to me.

The recovery demonstration was a different story though.

Back in the early 1970's a friend of mine owned one of these. A 1966 Bronco with a 289 V-8 and a manual transmission - three on a tree. He drove it over many logging trails in southern Missouri. It would handle most anything we put it through.

My guess is not much. IMHO, Ford people are Ford people and Toyota fans are Toyota fans, generally speaking.

Based on my personal experience with Ford and Toyota. Even if Toyota shuttered their business, I'd rather ride a bike than spend a dime on a Ford. Yes, I am bitter with my previous Ford experience.

I don't think Broncos are going to be any easier to come by, so my guess is it won't help Ford at all.

The Bronco? Or the Bronco sport? Because there's a huge difference.

As far as off-road badassery, the Bronco should run circles around any 4Runner due to 35's stock and being engineered to truly compete with the Wrangler.

As far as everyday use, I bet the 4Runner is still nicer, aside from the Ford's power advantage.

I think the Sport was designed to compete with the Jeep Renegade and maybe the TRD RAV4.
