Hey everyone! Stoked to be here and am now a happy owner of a 2016 Trail Premium (w/ KDSS). I've been lusting after a 4Runner for years so I'm excited to finally have one. Definitely planning on a few mods (new wheels, fender flares, nerf bars, and among other things a Pioneer CarPlay head unit).

Any tips on some great mods you've done that might be a little uncommon would be awesome.

Say hello to Loki (the Norse god of mischief)

Yeah. So. A friend pointed out that naming a truck after mischief and trickery is probably not the best idea, despite the best of my intentions. So that one had to go before it got me in any trouble.

Oh, and just added blackout emblems and the TRD Pro grille!

Did you go through the dealership for the blacked out emblems? I really like how it looks

Thanks! Actually they're a hard plastic overlay with double sided tape on the back.

Welcome Matt! Nice to meet a fellow forum newbie. I just got a TEP myself two weeks ago. I also added the black overlays to mine as well and love them. I highly recommend them. Can I ask how much you paid for the TRD grill? It looks amazing. What is your plan for wheels, tires, and lift? I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do. Seems like the more I research options the deeper down the rabbit hole I go.

I'm looking to buy a 2017 runner Pro. Question- is there a reason why u chose the trail premi over Pro...

Just don't want to miss anything I might regret later.

For me it was cost and availability. I really wanted the Pro for a long time but being able to find one was nearly impossible and when I did find one they were running $5K over sticker price. Too much money for the amount/type of off-roading I do. Don't get me wrong, if money (and patience) was no option I would have jumped on the Pro.

Thanks! I got the TRD Garnish and grille from http://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com/ and in total it was a little over $500. A lot for some plastic but I really like the look. Can't seem to find it on their site anymore so I wonder if they're out.

As far as wheels go I already snagged the TRD Pro wheels and got them installed on the factory tires yesterday. I'd love to do a 3" lift but waiting on that and more aggressive tires until a bit later. I'll keep researching that.

In the meantime, here are the wheels on!

I also have to say it was price and availability. Plus because I will do more city and highway than off-road the KDSS would allow for a better ride under normal conditions. The sunroof is a nice addition too.
