I can find Jeep club after Jeep club in the Houston area and I can find TLCA chapters in the other major cities in Texas but can’t find a damn thing in the Houston area. I already know the majority are pavement princesses and mall crawlers but there’s got to be more people in this area that actually go offroad. Why isn’t there a Houston area Toyota club?

I have never heard of TLCA. Is there a benefit to paying to be in a club? Truly don’t know anything about it. Seems that check your car over before events. The last time I saw an update for North Carolina on the website said something about 2019. So idk what to think of it.

Well, I enjoy going offroad and it’s always better when you have other people with you. When all of my off-roading friends are Jeep owners and Jeep club members and I get the its a club event, Jeep’s only bs when I try to get them to go out with me it makes sense to look at starting a Toyota club here locally. I don’t plan on buying a Jeep so unless they start a 4x4 club I’m stuck going out on my own which can be bad on the trail if something goes wrong.

Yeah I understand what your saying. I was reading on the TLCA website that you can start your own chapter. I assume there are a lot of Toyota owners that might share interest. Might be worth considering. It will be a bit of work to get it going but once you do you can look back at what you started. The nearest chapter from me is 1.5 hours away. So I am not going to join as that would not align with my interest. I have also been building up my friendship with other people around the area and just going on rides with them. I go off-roading alone (well with my wife and kids) quite often and I really enjoy that aspect because we can do whatever we want, whenever we want. But I don’t always take the challenging trails. However, going off-roading with other people is more fun at times. I would see if there is a group out there already on Facebook or Instagram that is inclusive of all those that want to go off-roading.
