What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Also took the rear seats out (half of it) and made a small platform out of scrap wood I had around the house. Gives you a decent foot more of space.

 

Drawer system is 90% completed. Everything is together and bolted in. We went with leopard wood for the drawer faces. The other pieces we liked were a little more pricey than what we wanted to spend with how much we were going to have to waste. Each piece was 1 3/4 or more thicker and we only needed 1/2”. The leopard wood section we picked up was just right at 3/4 thick 10.25” wide and 48” long. This will actually leave us with some extra that we may utilize as a cover for the bottom tray. Fans are wired up and worked as intended, lights will be done tomorrow given weather cooperates again. The fridge is wired up and working and hopefully tomorrow I can get the drawer faces cut and varnished. In between coats we will add the carpet to the drawer bottoms and that’s it. The L track will be here next weekend but that’s a super easy install.

 

Replaced the 20's on the Limited with 17" ORD wheels and Wildpeaks. Mechanic also found that my KDSS is leaking, so I'll start researching replacement and decide what size lift go to with...

 

You mean XREAS? Limited's dont have kdss. I'd make sure your mechanic knows the difference.

 

My mechanic was the right one. I'm the one that's wrong.

 

Got the rig packed and ready to go. Heading up to Lake Siskiyou on the California/Oregon boarder for a week of camping with the family.

 

New wheels and tires look great!

Rip that Xreas system out (don't repair or replace) and get some quality aftermarket shocks all around.

 

That's the plan! I want something mid-range with a small lift. I don't plan on doing any hardcore overlanding, but I will take it 2-3 times a year to have some fun. I am new to all of this and I'm open to suggestions. So if you or anyone else can offer advice, it'd be appreciated

 

Started staining the drawer faces

 

Changed tires from 285 70 17 to 33x12.50r17. One rub on passengerside front against mud guard. Took that off and good to go.

 

I know I just recently got my Grabber ATXs put on...but, I'm starting to think about upsizing them to 285s and hoping they'll fit with minimal modifications. That way I can take these current tires off and put them on my Truck that's needing some new shoes.

*laughs* The Wife and I decided that sliders would be the next best upgrade. So, I bought some Cali Raised Sliders instead. Bigger tires are up next though!

 

Thats pretty much every panel. And judging from the tear by the wheelwell, it looks like the aluminum bodied truck. Sadness

On a related note, i did get some pin striping on my last adventure. I used some of the ceramic infused turtle wax you spray on as u dry your car. Wow. You cant tell where most of them are from 3 feet away, unless you point it out. Good stuff.

 

My rock sliders stick out from the sides of the vehicle. They hit trees, rocks, and walls before the door panels do.

Yeah I just hit the trails last night and hit up my rock sliders a little. Slid right into it from the mud. Totally out of my control but that is why I have them.

The damage isn’t vast and honestly I had to take a second look but it was enough that I noticed when it happened and I said… yeah rock sliders.

 

Unless you got some straight sliders with kick out like a mofo, sliders ain’t gonna prevent what happened in that pic

 

Needs driver mod more than a slider mod.

 

Removed the Yakima basket from the Venture. Now it's a wall mounted trophy in the garage. Will keep it on hand for when I hit the road for points west.

275/70 on my 2013. Oh and put a Cornfed leveling kit on it last weekend

 

I like it...nice little accent color. I did my letters in gold/yellow for a while but it was a bit much. settled for the black/gold lettering on the C-pillars -see my profile pic << . just the right amount of 'stand out,but not a lot"

 

I made some shit to hold my solar panel wires that's mounted on the GFC.

the wife and i recently (july 9) brought home our new 4runners.
she had a santa fe, i had a highlander....we love 'em!

we had ordered silver for her vehicle, but both arrived white. we got $1,000 off list on each unit...not wonderful, but apparently a better deal than in some areas. we ordered these about 2 mos before they arrived.

we reside in the kcmo area.
