Quick disconnect Sway bar end links??

    I did a cursory search and all I am really finding is adjustable length sway bar end links, but none that are quick disconnect types...

    Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent set of end links with the ability to disconnect quickly? I like the JK ones popular with the Jeep folks, but don't see anything that would fit a 5th Gen 4Runner....

    Interesting... Any my experience directly contradicts that first link.. I will say, that if any of the driving is over 25mph, I'd keep all the links attached. My thought is to use the quick disconnects on those times when I miss my Fully locked XJ. Really rocky, 4Lo, crawling type stuff. Quick disconnects will definitely help in the rear, and I firmly believe they help in the front as well....

    I found that second link, but apparently didn't read far enough down to see the disconnect ones.. thanks!

    Agreed! Physics also contradict that link.

    The sway bar does exactly what they are saying a sway bar disconnect would do. Disconnecting the sway bar will allow the front suspension to flex more independently. I'm not sure how anyone with suspension knowledge would say otherwise.

    I thought there was a link awhile back in another thread to sway bar disconnects made by a member on another forum. I'll see if I can dig it up.

    Well, I searched a bit, and kinda found what I wanted, but not exactly what I want... so Maybe I will try to build something myself...

    In the meantime, here is 2nd gen rear links that are just a hair over 1 inch longer than 5th gen ones, and way cheap. THey should be an easy replacement.. bolt right in..

    About 20 bucks on Amazon...

    For that first batch of part numbers, here is the stock link vs the 2nd Gen MOOG pcs..
    It's about an inch longer and puts the sway bar in a pretty good spot, I'm happy with the angles..
    (I know the paint looks a little cheesy, but after living in the midwest for quite some time and learning to fear the rust, I figured an extra coat of paint wouldn't hurt... Probably needed to be a shade darker to better match Fox Red... oh well)

    This should be fine until I work on the quick disconnect idea I have..

    Mike Studt at mwstudt@yahoo.com supposedly makes ones that work ... @Wanderlust overland did a video of them on their fj and quite a few others have used em on the 5th gens
