5th gen 4Runners in scenic locations

Last day of living in California before we move cross country. Ran down Mattole Rd on the Lost Coast and took the dogs out to an abandoned section of beach.

 

Always wanted to visit the Lost Coast.

Thanks. Be a nice 3 day or long 2 day trip. You can run 1 all the way up until it veers away from the ocean on its final run to Leggett... then turn north on Usal Rd and enjoy 26 miles of rough dirt. Spits you out near Shelter Cove and from there you can explore all the dirt tracks in the King Range. Go further north on Mattole, check out the zebras roaming Petrolia...etc etc. Camping at Usal Beach and several BLM campgrounds in the King Range.

not as scenic as most pics but took a trip from nCal to huntington beach for 4 days and san diego for 3 days..

pics are when I gassed up and grabbed some in & out, lol..one at the hotel..

The old iron Furnace in Boiling Springs, PA. I was there to fish the Yellow Breeches. I'm back in PA for a few weeks to help my parents recover from surgery. 1700 miles from my
house in CO to Mom and Dad's place. I averaged 27.7 mpg 'cuz it's all downhill from Denver. Kidding. I don't care what my gas mileage is.

 

We have season passes to Grandfather Mountain, near Linville, North Carolina, so we are there weekly.

Took the 4Runner out and went to Uwharrie here in N.C. We went on a night run. 2am and just getting in bed. Trail has some slick spots today for sure. Hit skid plates, went through puddles, went through deep tracks, got clay all over the car and under the hood, etc. Turned on all 3 lockers (front, center, rear) on multiple occasions. Put the ARB dual compressor to work helping fill up 9 tires. It was so much fun. Anyways below is the only picture I got. I have 1 video but don’t want to upload to YouTube. I didn’t get a recording of going through the deep mud tracks but the below picture is just after.

 

Nice! I know that area well, as I lived in Boone for several years. We’re actually headed up there this weekend!

Weekend trip to Sedona this past weekend. It was raining and had cooler weather. The lightning storm at night put on a great light show.

Winching it out of the way a possibility? I have always wanted to do that.
