TRD superchargers are discontinued, look into the Magnusson super chargers. They took over after TRD quit and are supposed to be selling them for the 5th gen.

Anything Toyota can determine as a failure which was directly due to the supercharger would not be covered by the warranty. Anything unrelated to the supercharger would still be covered under your warranty. Also Magnuson has some sort of supplemental warranty as well, havent looked into exactly what it may cover for you

That is true, however the supercharger was discontinued prior to the 2016 4runner release and Toyota does not have a 2016 ECU reflash to my knowledge, therefore I doubt they would install a TRD supercharger (if they could even find one too) with the older reflash onto your 4runner and honor a warranty.
Pretty disappointing, I know. We have a '16 Trail Premium that we just purchased and are planning to supercharge it when the Magnuson kit is available, we did purchase a non-Toyota extended/supplemental warranty that will cover the vehicle even though it'll be supercharged.

That's what skid plates are for , and as far as sucking water it's not going to suck water unless it's installed poorly, the cold air intake is still usually mounted under the hood or direct to a snorkel.
not saying that a 1200 degree turbo getting dunked in 30 degree water would be smart though

On the jeep jk kits I've seen a solid skid plate made and they ran the intake from the turbo to a snorkel.

I'm not going to get one myself I was just throwing it out as an idea .
