I just finished installing the upper rail delete kit made by:

    Tom Torretto
    TT Designworks LLC
    714-720-2550

Kit was very well made and install was straight forward. Now I can add the fly rod vault to the rack and fit in the garage!

That’s awesome! What kind of rod vault do you have? I’ve had one for a few years and love it!

Excellent! I was eyeing this as well form Tom and this nearly confirms it being a good option. Any other pics or vids of install? And pics from far away? How easy/difficult was install? This will allow me to lift 2/1 now and fit the garage lol

This looks really good, love it.

They should design a deflector/fairing that mounts in those two unused front cylinders that this kit just includes caps for.

I was thinking the same, it would hide them well. I think there is a Thule fairing that supposedly fits the pro racks, not sure if it would fit with that front bar missing, however.

For me it came down to functionality…..I needed to fit in the garage once I installed a rod vault on the roof. This was $110 vs $700 for non pro factory rails or $1000+ for a low pro full roof rack. Plus I think it looks good too. The front cap/missing bar is more noticeable in photos than in real life. It does not look out of place from the side. I’ll get better pictures soon.

No cutting. The instructions are pretty straightforward.

Tip: be very careful with the screws in the rear legs. It can be easy to strip as they have Loctite and it’s a tight spot to access. Make sure to have your extension handy for the torx ratchet. I did a light tap on the torx bit (with extension) with a hammer to make sure it was seated in the screw well.

I also did this alone, the instructions call for a second hand to help remove and put the rack back. I placed a blanket on the roof and put it under the front legs, lifted the rear, then slid the rack off towards the back. Opposite for putting it back on. I was actually surprised at how light the rack was.

Other than those two things, it’s a breeze!

thanks you.. I appreciate the suggestions and will def keep that in mind. I plan on doing it this saturday.
the reason I asked about cutting, in the email he suggested to have the following tools:

    - T40 & T25 hex
    - 4mm hex wrench
    - 3/16 hex wrench
    - 1/8 hex wrench
    - small blade screwdriver
