    Oops - sorry for the double post

    Now that my 2021 OR order has officially been placed, I’ve got mod fever . . .

    I plan on blacking out the chrome badging, most likely with overlays.

    Based on feedback here, I’ve settled on the runnin4tacos.com kit. But it doesn’t seem to include anything to cover the horizontal chrome accents on either side of the front logo on the OR’s (I think it was added MY 2021?).

    Is plasti-dip my only option?

    On a related note, I’m surprised nobody has come out with an overlay for the valances that so many people want to change. At least I haven’t found one-

    The one from 4Runnerlifestyle.com has an option on the 20+ ORP to include the blackouts for the chrome strip. It's also cheaper than what you posted

    I bought some flat black 3M vinyl and wrapped them myself. First time I've wrapped anything...

    Those strips come out easily. Paint them in satin black and reinstall. I did it the second day I had my '20 SR5P

    Yeah I was curious about how they were attached. Good information. I presume it would leave holes if they were left off entirely?

    Honestly I'm torn on which way to go;

    1) Stock look on a black ORP looks good in my opinion. I find the chrome is limited to a few tasteful parts and ties in with the wheels. It breaks up all the black and reminds me of 2nd/3rd gens that had a healthy dose of chrome without it looking gaudy.
    2) Heritage grille. It's bit over done at this point and I don't find it's as nice as the Tacoma/Tundra heritage grille. It solves the chrome strips problem but it's a bit boring.
    3) Blackout badges. The big issue here is the stripes, I like using OEM parts and not like putting cheap Amazon junk or rattle-can paint on a $50K truck. Insane how Toyota needlessly added these stripes but could not mold two extra blackout overlay molds. Insane.

    Probably going to stay stock.

    That's why vinyl wrap is a win-win. Don't like the black out look? Pull it off.
