    Hello all,

I am looking at trading my 2003 Nissan Pathfinder in for a 2016 4Runner Limited.

I am stoked about all the cool things the 4Runner has to offer, but what I would really like to know are things to look out for or expect.

Have there been a lot of defects, recalls, problems with the 2016 4Runners that the dealers might not want to talk about?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

I have a 2016 SR5 and it is amazing. You are buying a made in 100% made in Japan Toyota that is built in the same factory as the Land Cruiser, what more can I say. These things are solid and will last forever. The quality of the 4runner has not decreased like other brands or models IMHO.

I have a 2016 Limited. I love it! Only thing I would note if you are not aware is that the limited has lower rocker trim on the sides than some of the other models. This is not an issue unless you plan to add rock sliders to you 4Runner. I added the Shrockworks sliders with full tread steps and had to remove the stock rocker trim. I think it looks great but that did cause a bit of an issue when shopping for the sliders.

You will love the 4Runner! It's a great truck.

    Nwhitmire,
Do you have the cooled leather seats in your Limited? I have cooled seats in my 2015 F150 and while I like the idea of them Ford has fallen short in terms of getting seats that cool. Initially when I bought it the seat back would get well over 100 degrees while running the cooled function. The seat back pocket would be 120plus degrees. Finally got Ford to come out with a fix but there fix only solved the heat problem. The back still doesn't cool. The seat bottom gets really cold.

I am trying to decide if I want to go with the SR5 Premium or spend the extra money for the Limited.

    Thanks.

Yes I do have the cooled seats they do work but I'll admit it's not the best. It does cool some on the back but seems to be more in the lower back area. I have not used the heated seat function yet so can not comment on how it works.

My wife drives a 2012 Ford Explorer Limited with the heated and cold seats and I know exactually what you mean about theirs. It is only on the seat part and none on the back. My wife doesn't like using them. She says "it just gives you a frozen crotch". She does like the heat function on them.

I will say I like the controls for the 4Runner better than the ford or the Chevy that we had before. When you turn on the heat or cool it stays I even if you turn off the car. Since it is a dial rather than an electronic button. On the ford you have to turn it back on each time you restart the car. Just a minor thing. But I like the Toyota way better. :)

Thanks. I really appreciate the input. The T4R would be for my wife, but usually when we go somewhere I am the one that ends up driving everywhere. At least going into it I know what I am getting into.
