Cylinder 2 is misfiring

    1999 gray 4 runner
    Cyclinder 2 is misfiring after up to temp and when we shut off the truck for 10 to 30 minutes. It is not the coil pack we moved the coil pack and it stayed in same spot. New plugs and fuel filter. Any kind of ideas would be helpful at this point.

    Nothing original about me but here's some stuff to consider.

    "Lean misfire causes that only affect one cylinder include a dirty fuel injector, an open or shorted fuel injector, or a problem in the fuel injector driver circuit (wiring or PCM). Compression problems that may cause a misfire include a burned exhaust valve, bent intake or exhaust valve, or leaky head gasket."

    Check the resistance across the three ignition wires (cylinders 2, 4 & 6). What I have learned is that before an ignition wire goes completely bad, you start seeing a varying resistance. The good wires should show a steady value and the bad one either a varying resistance or a high one. Alternatively it may be possible to swap the cylinder 2 wire with another cylinder's. Give that a try and or if you have access to a new ignition wire, give that a try. Once you've ruled out ignition as a source, next would be fuel (injector) or compression.
