That extra week going through the canal seems to explain the difference ;)

Update: After about ten days with the new truck, I love it!

Only issue I’ve had was metal clicking noise coming from the drivers side at slow speed acceleration, I’m tall, so the seat was all the way back. Moved the seat forward just a touch and that noise is gone.

As advertised, the gas mileage stinks (getting about 15.5 in stop and go traffic) and it’s not very fast. But it’s exactly what I hoped it would be!

Now that I have 1,000 miles on mine and I've been reading this forum (I blame you guys / gals) I'm thinking of putting a small lift on my Venture. I want to keep the stock wheels and just put bigger tires on it. Does this make sense or do I need to swap the wheels out also for the bigger tires?

There's a ton of good info in the wheel/tire section of the forum. From what i've read, the TRD wheel can handle up to a 285 width but you'd need a lift to not rub. 275's should fit without a lift and not rub. My buddy is running 285's on these wheels with a leveling kit and doesn't rub.

While getting gas at Costco today a guy pulled in next to me with an ‘86 4Runner in white, it looked great! He liked my 2021 as well. 469,000 miles between our two trucks! His had 467k on it!

I ordered/allocated a Lunar Rock Pro in November. I am in the Midwest. Dealer was allocated one in January and built January 22. Made Long Beach port the end of February. Was supposed to get it mid March. Dealer said COVID delayed it. Then the dealer said Toyota was having problems getting the Pro wheels they put on at port. Mine is a 590xxxx vin. Now it is supposed to be here in April 19-26th. In transit from port. Finally. I will believe it when I see it. It has been a long and frustrating journey.

Yep, it can be frustrating to say the least. Especially when I couldn’t wait to unload my X5 in trade before it needed brakes and tires!

Your dealers inventory manager should be able to get you a screenshot of the expected delivery date if the truck has left the port...

Good luck! Can’t wait to see it!

Thanks for the info. I did get a screenshot and it says 19th-26th of April. Getting close! The wait is killing me.

Just got a check from my dealer for 48.00 for “overestimated DMV fees”. Looks like they are buying lunch today! Thanks Toyota Carlsbad!

Another update on my Lunar Rock Pro from the dealer. Now it looks like Friday the 16 to Monday the 19th! Yeah.
I can’t believe it is almost here. The dealer told me they have a few people interested in mine. Hopefully better trade in. Usually this dealer does me right.

Had to drive to LA for a funeral on Thursday, normally I would ride a motorcycle to avoid being stuck in traffic, but seeing that I was wearing a suit it didn't seem smart to ride, so I drove.

This was my first time using the Adaptive Cruise control, and I gotta say, I loved it! What a cool feature! Set the cruise for 75, but when traffic slowed the truck slowed with it and kept the distance from the car ahead. There was no sudden braking from it like I have experienced in some rental cars. Great feature!

Yeah right? I use mine on the freeway all the time. I fkg love it and it is one of my favorite things now. I usually like to set the distance at far as possible from what is in front of me. I’m anal about mfr’s spitting shit back at me.

Totally agree about staying back. There’s always one A-hole that wants to fill that gap though...

I'm taking my truck in for the 5K service next week (the Oil Maintenance light came on at 4.7k). I was going to have the first oil change done at 5k, but was surprised the light came on so early, I thought the suggested interval was 10K? Anything I should look for or have done besides oil and tire rotation?

It maybe is good to get the oil changed at 5k with the new vehicle. But after that the message will still come on at 5k intervals. The synthetic oil being used these days however is good up to 10k. Ask your service person how to reset that message so you can do that yourself and not have to look at it for until you bring in the car. And don’t worry about getting to your oils service every 5k. Like I said you’re good until 10k.

I’m at the dealership right now for 5k service. Now I’m old school and 10k oil changes seems stretched out to me.
But I have the same oil maintenance light on. Trying to get the service guy to answer why light comes on at 5k by Toyota design but don’t change till 10k? I don’t expect a good answer.

Just rotated tires topped fluids off. Could of had oil change done in lieu of rotation, but I’ll get that later

Cuz they want to rotate tires at 5k. But I didn’t know they didn’t change the oil at 5k too. I know that the synthetic oil is good until 10k miles. I always wait for service until just before 10k anyway because oil I know is still good to then. Also you can ask them how to clear the maintenance message for yourself.
