Getting into a new TRD ORP... which color should I get?

My dealer its trying to hunt one down for me but they want my preference in colours. The only no-go colour for me is white but still mostly undecided on this front.

At first I wanted black but considering now how hard it is to keep it clean and the color fading/swirl marks/door handle streaks I am having second thought.

MGM seems to fit the personality of the truck most. It's subdued but aggressive at the same time I find.

Beyond that red and blue are okay, really find the silver body pieces on the ORP pop in these two colours..

Then there's boring silver. The one think I like about it is the TRDOR badge appears to be colour-matched on the silver, which is pretty cool. Otherwise it makes even a TRD model look pretty pedestrian.

    Thought and feedback?

Whichever one you like best, makes no sense to comprise on the color on a brand new vehicle if all you have to do is wait.

I think you should get white, it doesn’t matter if you like it.

The only color you didn’t hesitate about was MGM. I think you made the decision for yourself already

I had many White Toyota's including my SR5. But after seeing White paint problems next lightest color available to me is Classic Silver.

I like to buy light colors to keep the heat low as possible in hot summer days. Also dark colors make scratches more visible. I've had 2 Black cars in the past and sometime I wonder where on earth am I getting the scratches.

White looks best, shows scratches least, and is coolest in the summer. On the Off Road, I'd consider Silver to match the bumper valence. I don't like how it looks against the other colors.

The red is nice, looks much better in person vs the Toyota website.

I think I may like the MGM the best on these, though it's a little boring. The red and blue with bronze wheels looks fantastic, IMO, and are more exciting colors.

Mine is silver, which I agree is boring, but the great thing about it is that it hardly ever looks dirty, and it's great at hiding chips and scratches and things like that. I never realize how dirty mine is until I finally get around to washing it, then the metallic in the silver shines and it looks really nice.

Black looks nice when it's clean, but I would never buy a black one because they're such a pain in the ass to keep clean. Also, I don't think black really accentuates the body lines of these that well.

I would go with whatever gives you the fizz the most. If it's a new car, why compromise on color unless they're giving you a hell of a deal.

Get black and deal with it looking dirty all the time. Black is the only color that looks good with the silver valences that the Off Road gets.

Not to mention...I have a black one...so that means it's the best ;).

Yeah but it might be as long as 3-4 month if it needs to be ordered from Japan depending on what they find in the wild. Which is a bit of a crazy wait for TRD ORP.

I chose white because of hot summer sun. Black is awesome but impossible to keep clean. I love the blue but it's in the same camp as black IMO.

In the end the decision is entirely up to you.

Asking us what color to get is like asking us who you should marry. ;)

I would say blue of some type, like VooDoo Blue, but that's not happening.

Dealer just informed me that while they couldn't secure an MGM they did secure me a Midnight Black TRDOR still in production in Japan, exciting! I have a few months to educate myself on how to care for a black vehicle. lol

I had never had a black car but I am liking it. Definitely gets dirty but it is what it is. I enjoy it! My wife has a white 2018 and it looks great as well! I just wanted something different! I don’t see many black 4runners driving around.

I would just say do you and mod the way you want too. I haven’t done anything crazy but it fits my needs!

I have some experience with white and while it looks good... it is a single stage paint. No paint + primer in separate layers, Toyota's whites are apparently all single stage making correcting blemishes basically impossible if they are baked in.
