I just saw a Pro 4R grand slam around town today within a hour. Somewhat rare to see a single Pro in a day. First a Lunar Rock while driving. Wish I had more time to take it all in since it is only the second Lunar Rock I had ever seen and I am still unsure of how I feel about that color. Then a Red Inferno (orange) parked at a dealership - good look! Then a Desert Sand in a parking lot - great look! Then an older White one while driving home - weak look! The White one must have been an first year Pro since it lacked the trim details of the current Pro's and lacked the current FJ roof rack. The Red Inferno and Desert Sand had after market roof racks. I really liked the Desert Sand! It's a shame Toyota makes the color choices so complicated!

When did Toyota come out with the Pro 4R's?

Haha, which area are you in? It's pretty rare to see them here in the Bay Area, Ca as well. I once parked next to a Lunar rock and that was the first time I had actually seen one other than mine. I have never seen any of the other "special color" pros in person yet. Saw an army green TE, and that color looked so good!

Frederick, MD (outer suburb of Wash, DC). I have only seen two Lunar Rock 4R's thus far, both times driving in opposite directions. I have seen a Lunar Rock Tacoma and a Sequoia at two different dealerships months ago. Still a rare bird!

Hi! I just “ordered” a 2021 trail edition. It was allocated to my dealership on Thursday and hit the production line yesterday. They are telling me it’ll be about 25 days give or take. My guess is it’ll be much longer than that 25 days would be nice!!

Congrats, Cement is an awesome color! I'm sure you'll get it within the next month based on what others on here have experienced.

The Trail trim is the only 4R in Cement or Army Green. Wish Cement was available in the Pro or ORP.

I ordered my Lunar Rock Pro on Nov 14. The dealership finally got a Lunar Rock one allocated in January. Mine was built on January 22. It landed stateside end of February. There were some issues at the port. I finally received word today it will be at the dealership in the Midwest in two weeks. What a wait! I almost canceled but I was paying MSRP so I decided to wait it out. So I would say 6 weeks would be a more realistic time frame. It also depends on where you are located.

Even if you put a deposit down not sure if your chances of getting one. But every time I got a Pro the dealership had the allocation with the spec sheet which has the Vin number. So when I gave my 500 deposit I new I was getting it. I’m waiting now for my 2021 LunaRock Tundra Pro and the dealership has the allocation and I have the spec sheet with the Vin number. Just a matter of time till it’s built.

I love the inferno (orange) color, but I would be concerned about long term color fading. I tend to keep my vehicles at least 20 years. That was one of the reasons I chose white.

My 97 Tacoma was bright red, it was beautiful when it was new, but it started fading after just a few years. Even with regular washing and waxing.

I agree on color choice. I chose silver hoping it would last the long haul.

I remember those flat red paints non metallic would fade so quickly. They look sharp but don’t hold up especially if exposed to a lot of sunlight. At least the metallic paints appear to hold up better

Exactly, I also learned later that red paint cost more than other colors. Found this out talking to body shops. In the end, I just let it go and lived with it. On a brighter note, I never had any rust on the body or frame after 21 years. Living in the desert has its advantages. ;)

Hopefully everything works out for you. My dealer had an allocation when I went to talk about ordering at end of Jan. Paid deposit. Order went to Toyota 2/2, and by dumb luck my order was assigned to a vehicle already on the build schedule for 2/4. Left port 2/16, arrived at port 3/20, and will pick up at dealer this week.

Very nice! I'm hoping to hear about the allocation for mine either this month or next. I'm crossing my fingers I won't have to wait too much longer than that

Just got the word today that my Lunar Rock Pro should be here this Friday-Monday. I am stoked. I put a deposit down on November 14. Dealer finally got one allocated in January, built Jan 22. Since I have heard all kinds of reasons it is not here from COVID and then a shortage of the Pro wheels that are put on at the port. So, finally, maybe this week. My advise is be patient. It has been a difficult time. At least I am getting it a MSRP.

I have been hunting for a 2021 Pro MGM here in the Maryland area recently and there is a real shortage on the production side now! Most of the Black, White and MGM Pros have been selling for MSRP, but they are now tacking $1,000 to $4,000 on them. I refuse to pay above MSRP out of principle! I missed out on a MGM Pro for MSRP two weeks ago. I am almost inclined to wait for the 2022's to see what the new sexy Pro color will be and whatever new minor wrinkles they may add. Several dealerships have no 4R's on their lots.

Well, I didn’t go my dealer and order one, but my sales gal knew better than I did that I wanted one, but in super white. So when one showed up at the lot last Monday she tested me a pic. That dealer has been rarely having any pro on the lot, Carson City, NV.
So after thinking on it I knew I’d better because the Gen 5’s will come to end by ‘23 year. I think there is even a rumor that TRD is going away but that hard to believe.
But the finance mgr told me it was his lawyer friend who ordered it a few months back, he would have traded his 3 year old PRO in on it. Well when the new one showed up, dealer contacted him and he told them he got cold feet, lol!!! Thank you Mr. Lawyer Man hahahaha!!!!
They did do an mark up to 55k, I got them to drop just 1k of that. But I don’t blame them, they never have one on lot anymore. The options it came with are moonroof, $370 worth of front clear bra, need more to complete, which I ordered, running boards, which I should remove for sliders, cargo cover and and net, a road safety kit and fist aid kit and I think that’s about it.
Oh and at purchase time I also ordered windshield protection, where I live it’s required, imo, my 2020 ORP windshield was already getting wasted.

I didn’t have to wait for mine because as I explained above, well yeah. But I purchased mine Friday the 9th, super white, and I can tell you so far that, compared to the ORP I traded in for the PRO, the PRO is a completely different animal because of that suspension. feels nothing like my ORP. Love it!! And the jbl sound love it!! And the TRD exhaust, LOVE IT!!

Great endorsement for the PRO! I had been sitting on the fence for quite some time between the PRO and the ORP. About three weeks ago I finally decided I am definitely proceeding with a PRO - more than likely in MGM! I have never been a fan of white vehicles, but the Super White PRO pops with the black accents.

I don't know if this will be of any help, but I'm from Canada and I placed my "order" and deposit for the LR on October 2020 (coming up on 6 months!). Still have not heard anything regarding the production, allocation, or date of arrival. I was told a bunch of excuses about why Toyota "apparently" wasn't proceeding with my order, from Covid-19 safety protocols to the recent chip shortage.

I'm going into a bigger dealership this evening to place another deposit, which is what I believe may be the reason why I haven't heard from the initial dealership about the vehicle -- it was a smaller dealership. They've agreed to honour the perks and add-ons that were promised with my first order. My plan is to essentially purchase from whichever dealership receives the vehicle first. Call me ignorant but, this is the first time that I'm starting to realize that smaller dealerships don't get the same support and incentives as bigger ones do from Toyota. Sucks!

It definitely helps! I'm worried that the dealership I went to is a little bit smaller than some of the other surrounding dealerships. I figured I'll give them a few months to try to get the allocation, then I'll start looking elsewhere if they aren't able to pull it off. I love the Lunar Rock paint color, so I'm really not wanting to miss out on it this year. Best of luck at the bigger dealership this evening!

I'm also in Canada. After giving my $1000 deposit and finally deciding on my Lunar Rock colour (I couldn't decide between this or white), they "ordered" it February 1st. March 17 I got a text saying that "it was almost here, they're getting things in order. No guarantees." All I know is that, when I showed up March 21 to do paperwork, it was in the showroom with everyone's fingerprints on it lol. I took it home a few hours later needless to say.

Damn, that's a shame! But you're lucky you got your allocation so quickly! Just curious, but which province are you in? I've been waiting for almost 6 months now!

1st progress update from dealer LOL. I get a text from the salesman today "we have an incoming white pro that we can try to use to get the Lunar Rock. Did you want me to try and trade for it or leave it as the allocated one, not knowing exactly when it's going to get allocated." So, still no real timeline on my end. I told him if he can find one within 100 miles to go for it.
