    Hello All -

I have a 2018 SR5 Premium 4x4 and am almost ashamed to admit that I haven't done a thing to my beautiful baby, but now is the time!

For now, I am looking for recommendations on wheels and possibly lift kits(if needed). I don't plan to go off-roading a ton, but would like something that is for good for all around usage if I ever do feel the itch to go off-road.

I am clueless on brands and what dimensions I would need. I also would not want my tires to rub the mudguards if I do go a size bigger than my stock tires.

Looking forward to hearing from ya'll!

Welcome from Wisconsin! There are countless number of wheels, lift kits, spacer lift/leveling kits to pick from. Along the left side of the forum home page are some vendors for some of the things you might be interested in. Lots of pictures of some beautiful 4Runners on the forum, not a lot of help, you'll know what you want when you see it. Have fun !

    Feel free to ask
    Welcome.

Are you trying to work within the confines of a budget for lift, wheels and tires or is it ‘sky’s the limit’?

No budget, but I also want to spend wisely. Currently looking at Black Rhino Pinatubo rims on BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2.

Bigger A/T LT Tires, Slight Lift, Sliders, Rack, Lights, etc.
    Good choices.

If you want to run larger than stock tires, you'll want a lift most likely. But, many are happy with stock sized tires but in the A/T variety (like the BFG K02's) since they still look a little bigger and more aggressive than the stock highway tires.

One thing I'd decide on, if you want to lift it, is to what extent you want to "level" the truck. If dead-level looks good to you, and you don't ever put a lot of weight in/on the rear of the truck, check out the Eibach Pro-Truck lift kit (stage 1) for the 4Runner. Super popular kit with great results. I recommend aftermarket, adjustable UCA's with that kit, but most that buy the kit don't upgrade their UCA's and don't have an issue with it.

As you figure out what you like (take your time), report back here and we can help further. A lift can cost anywhere from $300 to $3000 and up depending on what you want out of it.

All great information. Thank you very much. Dead-level is what I'm going for as I don't plan to put a lot of weight on it. The Eibach's will definitely do. So it looks like I will have to purchase my wheels and tires separately. I found a decent deal down the street from my place at America's Tire. Is it advisable to wait for the the lift kit to be delivered and have it all at once? Or will I be ok with just having the wheels and tires put on before the lift kit?

That depends on the specs of the wheels and tires.

We used the Eibach on my wife's 4runner with JBA control arms. She has 275/70/17 KO2 on SCS rims. With the lift her runner drives much better than stock in my opinion. There are pictures in the 5th gen build forum if you want to take a look.

Hmm. What's the offset on those wheels? I'll let others with more wheel experience chime in.. but I think you're ok.

Sure you want to go with an LT "E" rated tire for the 265? It will definitely ride harsher than the stock tires.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Ride harsher on the road, empty truck, yes. You can lower the pressure a little, like down to 32-35, and that will reduce that effect some. Not totally, but some. Just fill them until the shoulders are just off the ground. Saves them for off-road :D

Off-road, with the truck loaded up, like with rescue and camping gear, water, and so forth, they're actually not that bad. You can air them up a bit, too. Just ensure you keep the contact patch as large as possible. Not super low pressure, like going through sand, or anything, but say you're at max curb weight, just fill the tires to the point the tires' shoulders are still on the ground, and stop there.

All this is just my opinion, and you know what they say about those...
