What rock sliders are those? I like them and think they look clean and functional for stepping up

    All of them.
Looks like hot trash a front runner would look way better....... if only there was someone with a front runner that would be willing to trade ......

Jk. I actually really like the no rise and breaks up the monotony of everyone with a gobi having the normal version. Good job man.

There's a Gobi rack and ladder for sale on the Denver Craigslist - not mine. Someone buy it!

Dunno, I haven't priced Gobis. I doubt it's $1000 over retail for a rack and ladder combo though.

Looks Great “nimby” and great job on doing the install all by yourself! Probably will be doing the same … Question; did you spray anything on existing bolts and letting it sit for awhile before you started removing them?

No, no need to spray the existing bolts. Everything came off pretty easy.

Anyone have a round diameter measurements for the standard and elevated cross bars on the 5th gen Gobi rack?

    Thanks!

I completed my rack install and it was pretty easy, I did need help getting it on top of my vehicle though. Everything was wrapped and organized well. I always seem to have some sort of snag or issue when I do a project but this one went very smooth. I’m looking forward to putting it to use on our trip out west in May.

Looks great. I’m assuming you have venture. I’m still at awe that they don’t come with a rear valance

    Thanks. Yep, it’s a Venture with an identity issue. It’s more like a Venture/TRD OR/TRD Pro. :D

So Gobi just sent out an email stating if you do not have an update reply back and the crew will respond back shortly...but I got this:

call the main number and ask. I've called on Monday's with no luck, but later in the week you may have a better chance. They've answered the phone and have been responsive every time I've called for an update, after waiting the 16 weeks. Took 6 month to get mine, they also got hit by covid and took their entire staff out for almost 2 months, so considering this they are still about 16 weeks and probably having a hard time catching up.

Upon inspection of my rack there are a few spots with weld or power coat splatter, and I wouldn't expect mint perfection, but complaining is not worth the efforts at this point.

Honestly you just need to wait longer, eventually they will get it built. Its not like its lost in the shuffle, they are just buying more time because of the back log. At this point your rack is probably not physically built/welding so it doesn't matter.

Thank you. I’m fine with waiting with just an idea (I’d be fine if they said June!) so I can run over and do another mod or two. I’m not going anywhere just wanna keep the bound going :)

Yup! Called and emailed him my order number. I might just need to shut the heck up, really don’t want to come across as a whiny PIA. It’s more about if I’m adding the switch pro in before or after.

    Installed!

If anyone is looking for tips when they get theirs.

be really careful using the anti-seize lube that comes with the rack. Cut the top off,
Small hole. Do not tear open! You need a nice clean, Small hole. It’s super messy, a little bit seems to spread everywhere. It also stains clothes/coat. I wouldn’t use it on the farring bolts as you’ll just make a huge mess. I used another product in a small squeeze tube. But do use it on the post brackets. Don’t get it on you!! Even reusing a rag you’ll find it smearing EVERYWHERE! it touches

Keep the post brackets fairly loose as well as the rack bolts while you install the front supports. This will ensure you get the 3.25” distance. Then tighten everything down.

when installing the ladder, don’t bother with a level, it won’t work. Just eyeball it. The ladder side should be pretty much inline with the left edge of the 4, in the logo

I installed mine over two evenings as I didn’t have too much daylight and it was cold. Looks amazing!! Now I’m ready to cruise down to the mall.
