Looking for a hitch hauler and came across these at Harbor Freight. Northern Tool has the same. $85 seems like either a steal or a ripoff.

Just for hauling coolers and beach stuff. And I’ll add a few rod holders.

Any other favorites around the T4R forum?

Most harbor freight stuff is a rip off but occasionally something is better than expected.

For sure. Northern Tool isn’t far behind or Tractor Supply for that matter.

My 2cents check out Nextdoor, Craigslist or FB marketplace. I found one for free. Sprayed some rattle can bedliner and good to go.

Did you watch the video? Doesn't look bad. Assembly required. Probably fine for normal use within its load rating. jm2c

Picked one up on sale a Northern. It's served its purpose. It also depends on how many times you hit it going through a ditch. Use ours at the beach a lot. The Pakmule looks really nice but $700ish?

Was wondering as I watched the video if the slide-in could be shortened and re-drilled? Thoughts?

I don't see why not. But it will make it a little aggravating to get the pin in and out.

I actually extend and raise mine for use on my FJ and I can still only open the back door barely enough to reach in. The 4Runner not as bad since the back wind can be opened. I also use two of the hitch tightener's to keep the basket from rattling as much.

I have a harbor freight one and use it all the time. I got it on sale for like 40 bucks. It's perfect for hauling coolers.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I would buy, like, a funnel at Harbor Freight. And WD40. They sell name brand WD40 there.

Got some heat shrink there. Once.

All kidding aside. Most of the stuff I've seen there qualifies as 'good enough' to get the job done. Kinda reminds me of the time I bought a Black & Decker cheep'o skill saw to cut up a VW when transforming it into a Baja Bug. 40 years later the saw was still running well enough for rough cuts. The shaft was far too worn for precision. But, it was still showing up for work.

Just avoid the jack stands like your life depends on it.

Have the same one from harbor freight. Been using many years with no issue. Assembled using all stainless steel hardware instead of cheap hardware supplied.

I’ve also got the one from harbor freight, no problem out of it. I think I paid $50 for it. Friends of ours have had one for years and use it all time.

Personally I wouldn't put Northern Tool in the same category as Harbor Freight.

Agreed! I wouldn't buy anything that my life depends on from there.

But, I have their click type torque wrench. I wouldn't use it to build a motor, but I think it's fine for lug-nuts.
