Anyone else have the lights in the heater and A/C knobs go out? just got my Runner at the end of Jan and they were already like this. All the ones that are circled don't light up when the headlights are on but the selection light, lights up. Kind of weird that just the left and middle knobs lights aren't working but the selection lights are and all the lights on the right knob do work. just seems like all the bulbs wouldn't go out like that. Any ideas??

The bulbs are replaceable. Just open the compartment below the environment control panel pull up on the compartment gently it should pop out, then take out the one screw that holds the panel in and gently pull, it should pop out and you will see the bulbs. There are different sizes and you will need a small pocket or jewelers screwdriver to pull them out. There is a youtube video on it.

But it's not weird that all 9 are out? I could understand 1 or 2 but it just seems kind of odd. Maybe I'm put doin that weird female trait of overthinking lol

Bulbs are clear so the lens that projects the color would need changing...... Not impossible but never thought about it.

Yea it the right number I just didn't know which is which without taking apart my car lol I've been super busy and didn't want to take it apart just to look at the bulbs and risk cracking the plastic lol guess I'll stop being lazy and make time tomorrow to do it :annoyed:

Consider yourself lucky that you can replace a few bulbs and be good again. Apparently my circuit board above those has failed. I thought it was just the bulbs since I had some of the control lights out and replaced them all. That panel (whatever it's called) remains dark. Damn!

Dukb question but did you have the right bulbs? From what I've found on Amazon there's a couple different bulb numbers for that screen and they all look exactly the same.

Oh that sucks! Look in the buy/sell/trade and see if anyone has one. I've seen a couple people parting out totaled Runners.

A late reply but I found one from a SR5, couldn't find any from a Limited but figured it would work. Plugged it in, everything was fine until I noticed the passenger side was blowing cold while driver's side blew hot. Since my bad units controls still worked I plugged it back in, sure enough it was on dual control. Switched dual control off, pulled it and put mine new one back in. Voil, it works correctly!

As odd as some people may find it, now that we've been using it, both my wife and myself like it better than the dual control.

Nope it's a specialty bulb. But they are half the dealer price on Amazon. Just make sure you get the gray ones. I accidentally got the black.

Are all of the bulbs out? Cause I think it might be more than just that bulbs if every bulb is out. On mine I only see one bulb on each knob and three on the upper display.

All of the bulbs were out on my 4Runner when I got it. Bulbs fixed them all....knock on wood. I would guess the bulbs are way cheaper than a new panel.

The bulbs are WAY CHEAPER than a new panel! The panel when i priced it out for my '07 was $1500. That takes away from mods... not happening!!
