Well the Runner goes in Tuesday for the fuel pump recall. I have mixed feelings on having it done. 2014 w/73K and no issues. Guess it'll be for piece of mind.

well less than 2 hrs at shop and new pump and state inspection done. Hopefully this pump goes 73K+ like old one did. Time will tell.

I have a 2014 with the same miles as yours, no trouble before, but had the fuel pump replaced with recall about a month ago. One thing I found peculiar is that a full tank pre-replacement showed 380+ mile range. Post-replacement shows between 450-480. This is the same gas from the same gas station. Have you noticed anything like that? Thanks.

Probably because they disconnected the battery then the mileage fuel range was reset after. It should go back to your normal fuel range after driving for a while and a few fill ups.

I got the notice this week and they can't do the work for 3 weeks..........I m sure they will break something. The only trouble I have had in 102k is dealer induced

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Lucky me. I got a notice that my 4Runner is indeed included in the fuel pump recall. Toyota has no solution yet and will notify me when they do. My question is what happens if the pump craps out in the meantime?

^change at any shop, save the receipt and send it to Toyota.
    I’d do 100% OEM.

Warranty, 5k/60k mile warranty, and if it falls outside of that then I’m sure they’d replace it as they have acknowledged the issue.

That's not what I mean. If it fails and they don't have any pumps to replace it with in stock what the hell am I supposed to do? Will they give me a vehicle to drive until they can repair mine? Who the hell knows.

You complain until they give you a brand new car:D

yes if you’re getting warranty work done you get a rental paid by them for the duration of said repair.

we got the notice on our 2018, my wife's. she will not drive the truck now. went to the dealer and they said they would give us a rental car that they pay for. only catch is our 4Runner has to set up there on their lot for who knows how long. they said probably march- may who knows, both of our 4Runners sit in the garage and we're not leaving it sitting up there . neither of us work so we just use my 2011 when we need to go any where.

Well dang, I've a 2019 with 19k and just got the notice in the mail. Seeing at the first post was in August, I guess they're slowing extending it by year?

Fuck me, I just got a notice from Toyota! I sure hope I don't stall in the middle of bumfuck nowhere on my way to Florida next month.

It probably won't be a problem. It's just annoying after 2 bulletproof 4runners that there's so many issues with these. This might be partly due to never buying a new vehicle before, though.

Why won't she drive the truck?

Fear of a flaming death? I think there's been like 0 crashes and 0 fatalities and probably this is a lot of ado about nothing...

I got the same letter and I give 0 shits.

Think of all that mileage, wear and tear your saving your own vehicle from! Oh ya, there's all that screwing around playing 'musical vehicles', not only on taking it there, but going to get it back, but like your post said.....use the 2011 till you get it back, maybe you'll get lucky.
