Factory remote start working distance?

    Never had a remote start I was excited that I bargained for a remote start on my '16 4Runner.

    Deep in the middle of winter and I hate it. I have to be within 50 feet of the truck for it to work. What good is that?

    Are new remotes available with farther transmitter distances? I really do not want to buy an aftermarket starter that are sold working up to 3 miles away. If I got 1000ft I'd be happy.

    From what I have found the factory remote start and distance leaves a lot to be desired. I have only used mine a few times to cool down my rig while on vacation in Florida. It was close enough to start from our hotel room. I think the only option to increase range is to go aftermarket.

    Factory ones are a joke! There are some great aftermarket ones. I really want one which I believe you can start from literally almost any place in the world, presuming you have decent signal strength.
