Looking at Molle panels to increase storage capacity. Looking at either Rago or Cali-Raised. Both seem to have pros and cons. What I like about the Rago is that the quality seems to be top notch. Are maximized for fit and room. And they look to have abit more storage space than some of the other Molle panels out there.

The Cali Raised don't look to have the same quality behind them as the Rago. I do like how it has much more hanging space and they fill the shape of the window area nicely to maximize storage capacity. I do notice the upper area is void of 3/8" holes for quickfist mounts and such.

I do know both have a shelf option and read all the pros and cons of each. I will never have the shelf option. Most likely a roof net for soft goods.

So with all this, what are you using and why you like it over the other?

I have Rago panels on both sides in the rear. Quality is in fact top notch, great customer service.

I have rago sides as well both powder coated.....I added the shelf but just bare metal....

By adding a cheap cargo net tied off from the shelf to the rear seat headrests, my crazy ass chocolate lab is now confined to the cargo area......no more co-piloting for daisy.

She had easily defeated every pet barrier arrangement prior to this.

I also use the molles to store stuff.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I have the Ragos. They're good! I haven't put much on them yet, but they're secure and fit great.

What does everyone use for securing gear to the molle panels?

I have Ragos. Great product great company great support.

One cool feature that is unique to Rago is they have added a spot to mount a light on the rack.

Given how 4Runners are known for having crap light in the cargo area, I think this is a very smart add. I have two Baja Designs rock lights on order (the kind with a switch) that I'm going to wire up. I just need to decide if I want them always powered or hooked up to the hatch lights. I'm thinking the former, as I often sleep inside the truck when camping, so being able to run them even while the hatch is closed will be conveneient.

How do you find the noise when you're offroad? Do you get a lot of clatter/rattle with everything strapped to the panels? It's my only hesitation so far.

    All of them.
That must be a new feature my didn’t have that. At least I’m pretty sure mine is just flat there. Of course I did snatch a set of their “blemished” ones which I can’t find anything blemished about them.

Yeah I think it's newer (I bought a driver side 18 months ago and it didn't have it then a passenger this fall and it did.

They will sell you just that piece for a few bucks - I bought one for the driver side because I want lights on both sides.

I either strap things down so they don't bang around or use molle pouches and there's essentially no noise.

How much weight would you say you have/do have put on each panel? I wonder what their safe working load capacity is... mainly the screws of course

I've been wanting to add some molle panels for a little while now to help keep some of the "permanent" items a little more organized. But $380 USD, plus shipping + maybe duties to canada... $500+ for a pair of CNC aluminum plates? I just can't justify it

    They are steel ;-)

The mounting requires some fairly specific machined parts.

Maybe get your friends at Greenlane to design some. Then you can save shipping too. Whatever they make is well made.

You can watch their install video on YouTube. He talks about it there, but doesn't give a precise number from what I recall. I've got a lot of crap on mine and haven't worried about it or had problems.

Very happy with the Cali-Raised panel I have on the driver’s side. Moved the fire ex. up a bit higher since this first pic. Really like the lower mounts over the wheel well.

Ooh that extra area IS nice, otherwise it's sorta wasted unless you've got a "bulky" item that sits in that wheel well tray - even so, now you can place something there as the base and still strap to panel for security

Edit: Their solution aint so affordable either. Blahhh

Guys and Gals, thanks for all the input. I have decided to get the Rago molle panels. While more than I want to spend, it will be nice to have all the items that are currently in bins, accessible and out of the way.

I am Using the rago panels. They are super steady and are right to the windows. I have about 6 molle pouches on each side that carry stuff I use everyday.
