Not so sure. Back in the 80's, you could go down on a chick after supper and floss your teeth at the same time.
    Good times LOL

When I was married I parked next to a lifted decked out jeep. Wife goes, oh look.. guy must have a little dick. I had to laugh because she didn't see the dude was in it with the window down :D
She tucked her head and humbly walked fast into the restaurant.

    y'all silly.

    :D

I'll admit that, when we first splurged for our Venture, I would look down at all of the SR5's everywhere. lol But mostly I did that because there are THOUSANDS of 4Runners in my area, it's like they're freaking everywhere. I hate having a common car, so I was trying to convince myself that my TRD was different and thus somehow rarer lol. Honestly, I'd say that in a week I probably see 1 TRD Pro, 2-3 TRD OR's, and about 50+ SR5's. So I'm happy that my TRD OR is "rare" ... in a way at least.. but does it really matter? Nah.

The 4Runner is badass so I guess I can't/shouldn't get butt hurt that it isn't as rare as I'd like. Can't be a hipster every time, I guess..

In my parts, a Pro is very rare - very. I see them lurking from time to time, but that's about it.. or maybe I don't drive as much as I use to w/ COVID n all. I see the more common characters and give a wave/nod if I can tell they're an enthusiast.

That said - I get the war. I remember when I was 19 or so I had a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS, which is a base model with no luxuries. I would see and envy all of the other trims, especially the GSX (AWD + Turbo). Because I had the RS, they wouldn't give me the time of day - until they learned it was a sleeper as early on I turned it into a turbo with a Hahn Racecraft Stage ll Turbo Kit. While it would generate much conversation due to its performance, often times "beating" the others, I was still called a wannabe and was often questioned as to why I didn't just get the GSX in the first place.

All that to say, the banter is what makes this fun. It creates character within the community.

This thing with a quick wave/nod to the other 4runners out there, I have to admit that the most "active" community in that sense is the Mustang owners.

You think so? I rode with a friend of mine who has a Rubicon, and I swear he’s “waving” all of the time. I remember test driving one prior to getting the Runner and couldn’t believe how many times people waved in that short drive. On top of that, I didn’t even know all the damn waving rules, such as if your Jeep is newer, you’re supposed to wave first, and then the person in the older Jeep waves back. When did that community sit down to discuss this stuff?!

With 4Runners around here, there is an 80% chance it's being driven by an attractive female. Now that I have my "Pro" rack, sometimes they look back.  :p

The most active groups we see are Corvette, Mustang/Shelby, and Porsche people. Then there is the Jeep clan.

I think I have gotten waved to by more people in Jeeps than 4runners. It's most frequent when I have a roof rack on it.

Here is a tip- if you ever get in an accident, don't fix it, instead say that you have the ultra rare Frank Gehry edition. After my Dad Frank Gehryed our Honda Accord around a tree, we had a truly unique vehicle that I could always pick out.
