I love how when 1 of every 1,000 people have a problem with their 4runner people come running in to talk shit.

Meh. You can only see the scratches when it’s off. Doesn’t bother me.

I definitely wasn't referring to you.

I'm very interested to see how Toyota takes care of you. I HOPE they make things right for you.

I also feel shitty that you're dealing with this BS. If I was you, I would be extremely frustrated right now.

My service advisor has been great and has made the experience a lot better. They put me in a rental car while my vehicle was being repaired and everytime I’ve come in. They also gave me a TRD cold air intake for all the hassle I’ve had to deal with. However it’s out of the dealerships hands and is being handled by Toyota North America/corporate right now.

I hope they handle it, but I’m not sure how it’s going to go. Other than the issues I’ve had I really like the 4runner and want to stay in one.

Dude if it's Styrofoam coming together squeaking noise it's the pieces outside your windshield where it meets the hood. Just press down on it. While pressing down you should hear that exact squeak sound. I guess the tabs on mine came lose and when I pressed down it snapped back into place and never returned thank god

My brand new 2018 tacoma had annoying rattles. My personal hypothesis is toyota definitely uses lighter/cheaper plastics so if you ever off road you will probably develop squeaks.

I had a first gen taco and 1st gen tundra I recently sold, off roaded the taco pretty hard and never any squeaks or rattles. The tundra on e rated 33s was still the most quietest smoothest vehicle I have driven in my entire life.

Also toyota corporate and the dealers aren't what they used to be. They will go beyond their ability and power to deny any warranty claims nowadays

The only noise mine makes that truly annoys me is the squeaking from what I believe is the ac fan or belt. Very annoying because I can hear it with my windows down.

I know it sounds silly but try applying some bar soap to the belt. An older vehicle of mine had an odd noise. A mechanic friend told me that & it worked. I had to reapply every couple of months. Worth a bar of soap for a test.

I guess the OP has learned his lesson by now - don't you dare list any grievances about your particular truck or you'll get dog piled by guys who take it personal. Geez.

See all the electronic bs is more of a concern I would think. I know so many people with these damn screens that break in cars in general not any one brand and the heated seats and heat are on when it’s 90 degrees.

Some stuff we have to have. I almost wish I got one with out safety sense. Less options means less stuff to break.

    1. Never seen a screen break like that before (without impact).
    2. Had or heard of heated seats stay on in any model
    3. I completely agree about TSS. I heard it was coming in 2020 so we bought ours on March 2019. K.I.S.S.
I hope everyone's remains the tank that they are!

screen had no impact. It returns to normal and to what I posted randomly. Not sure why, but it fixes itself temporarily if I turn my vehicle off and on. Today I had a 30 minute drive and had no issues with the screen.

I've had my 2020 ORP for several months and 4000 miles now. I have no rattles but it is a plastic toyota so I wouldn't argue if its within reason. I think that slight vibration is honestly just a old chassis and an even older big V6 doing its thing. It doesn't concern me at all.

I wasn't assuming that you did have screen impact. Sorry if it sounded like that!
I am with you 100% you got a lemon.
I was just trying to say that it is something I have never seen before.
Honestly, it sounds like you have my kind of luck (bad)...

I'm torn on this one. I trust myself more than a computer. But, I trust a computer over most other drivers. That bicyclist getting killed awhile back doesn't really help with my confidence in technology.

I really enjoy driving, so I'm not too excited about it. On the flip-side, driving cross country would be a lot easier.

I work in the industry and there a lot of questions. One of the largest is a potential terrorist attack where an organization takes control of many cars and creates a big pile up. I have been in a few and the computer thinks a small tree sapling one the side of the road is a pedestrian and slows down significantly. I think we will see these cars in big cities first where they can map out all items like fire hydrants, trees, traffic lights. It will be interesting. I like driving also and am not a fan.

Lol, not getting the new ford jeep. I will run this station wagon into the ground or it will rust away in a few years, but i will build something worth while either way to replace it.

Had one for many of decades. Find it more user friendly then my current TuRD, but then again i have never been a huge fan of drive by wire and nanny state gizmos.
