I don’t think I could bring myself to do that to one! Man they are so nice. My neighbor has 3 ‍♂️ Well 1 is like a 2000ish which ironically I wanted if they ever got rid of it and they traded it in!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a LC I didn’t like. Or 4R for that matter.

I really love the 80 and 100 series.

Given the budget, I would wheel the piss out of one.

Hell, I can't afford to wreck my 4runner, and just crawled it up a big rocky hill last Saturday. I took it down the appropriately nicknamed "Pinstripe Road" 4 months after buying it. I feel a little weird putting a new-ish vehicle through this abuse sometimes. But, it's why I bought it.

When the budget allows for another vehicle, I'll have a nice shiny sedan to keep clean. :)

That's exactly what happened! I knew there would be trail rash eventually, but this road was ridiculous! I felt sick and was seriously upset when I finally stopped and looked at it. But, I felt better after realizing that it was all in the clear coat. Now, some of them remind me of where and when they happened.:D

All I’m saying is I’d love to see the numbers. Sucks no one has done any testing on the pro besides fox and Toyota.

    I tried to find something.

I did find an article in which a Landcruiser Prado with and without KDSS were compared. It actually stated that rear suspension travel increased with KDSS. I would expect it to be the same case with the 4runner.

Many have been lost to this debate. Yet I bet we are talking about a matter of maybe a inch at the most.

Lol! I actually had a good looking girl in a BMW smile and wave at me recently. I can only assume she thought it was a PRO.:D

I mean, Obviosly. Typically with the pro they follow you until you stop and then give you their number. This is also when that case of white claw comes in handy. My wife hates that part but its all part of owning a PRO.

I ended up getting the Pro. For the record it has remote start but not memory seats. Was surprised to find that missing. Also would have preferred trail/all black running boards.

Memory seats you only get in the limited. Probably because it comes as a package with air conditioned seats that would be problematic if you get it muddy/dirty. Running boards you can replace easily for $350 or so. They are held on by 6 bolts.

We may all be put to shame with the release of the Hemi powered Wrangler just released! Talk about some off road power! I’ll still take my 4R for sure but I sure hope it’s buries the Bronco. Not a fan!

Looks like a Venture minus the TRD Off-Road badging on the side... was that added by the dealer?? Or did they take a TRDOR and add the Venture wheels and cosmetics?

This is a Canadian edition Venture package. It does have the TRDOR badging on the side.

Limited has 3" lift with a larger tire, 20" rim, windows, bug shield, remote start. Pro will get similar treatments
For what its worth-a buddy got a 19 TRD Off Road with the KDSS and said "I wish I would a got an SR5 and not worried about any a the other stuff." I just traded in my 18 Limited that was said to be the best ride, then. I now have a 21 TRD PRO and it's everything I ever could have imagined/wanted. The ride is incredible and I have no doubts about moving thru my surroundings. That being said, I know when someday it comes time to sell-I'll get top dollar. They're harder to get yes if you're picky-isn't everything?

Thats what it came down to for me. I have...err had, the means, that the cost was somewhat negligable and the ride is soo nice. Will eventually swap everything out someday not gonna lie there.

I am in the midst of choosing between a 2021 TRD OR Premium or a TRD Pro. The online Toyota configurator shows a base MSRP of $43,050 for the OR and $50,470 for the Pro. A difference of $7,420. The listed online prices show a difference of $10,000 to $13,000 in the Maryland / DC area. I have yet to speak with any dealers. I feel the true value added of the different features on the Pro are probably worth closer to $5,000 to me. For the Pro, I don't like the roof rack at all and would probably remove it. Not a fan of the fake hood scope either. I like the idea of a top of the line stock vehicle with no intentions of modifying it. But, the TRD OR Premium just seems to make the most sense financially! I would probably just change the wheels and tires on the OR in the immediate future. Fortunately I am self employed and I can take advantage of the 40% write off since the 4Runner has a GVW of over 6,000 lb which helps offset the higher price of the Pro if I choose to go that route.

I suggest go and drive both of them. For me the difference was the ride with the Pro was a big factor for me. That and my wife is always hot and I like reasonable temps so dual climate control has been nice. The better sound system is good too along with the goodies it brings such as remote start with fob and the app. Wheels and tires on the pro were just an added bonus that I didnt have to shop for. Though the nitto terra grapplers are just decent, nothing amazing except the nice ride.

With Toyota offering so many levels into the mix it’s so muddled now so much so not the case when I bought my 18 ORP at the time it was a BETTER value like having a sunroof which wasn’t available on a pro but today if I had to do it again I would go pro
I do love my truck because I uniquely made it mine it’s a better performer now then any pro plus the price difference I was able make it a more capable truck to tackle nature’s hurdles

I went with the Venture in Nautical Blue Metallic, because I needed the CRAWL feature, which I used a lot on my FJ Cruiser TT in the winter time (25% Steep Driveway Hill).

    Pick it up on Thursday.

I also liked the wheels, logo black outs and no badges on the sides or rear, which go well with the darker colors. Black was my 2nd choice, but these days you take what ever you can get.

I understand some of these are coming in with black wheels, while others with the gun metal grey.

That thin piece of chrome next to the front logo will have to get blacked out or painted. Ebay sells a cover strip for $24.

Removed the Yakama Basket (forsale now) after reading it only has a 51 lb load rating... That's like a couple of fat cats.

Ordered a venture in beginning of June.. will be re in July. I didn’t want to pay the huge mark up on pro just for minor differences and only paid 1500 over MSRP

My Toyota dealer wouldn't accept Costco buyers program for any 4R. Do other dealers accept it?
