Hi Guys - looking forward to join the community, I am interested in buying 2013 4runner limited with 140k miles. Price is 22k. Do you guys think its a good deal ? I test drove it and it drives great. Let me know what should I look for? I did use Toyota owners site and it has been maintained mostly at dealer. All recalls are taken care of seems like. How much life I ,can get out of it?

I am mechanically inclined and do basic maintenance on cars myself. I am buying it because my 15 year old Honda accord that I bought in 2005 now with 350k miles just got totaled after hitting deer this week .

    I wouldn't pay $22k.

I mean just to get a ball park KBB tops out at $20k.

I wouldn’t pay that for that many miles either. You can do better

Seems pretty insane to me. I'd be looking for newer or way less miles for that money.

Just curious, where are you located?

I have to disagree with the other posters. I’ve been looking at 4runners for months and just bought a 2012 Limited (4wd) with 145,000 for $22,000 after taxes, fees, title, etc. It had a single soccer mom owner and spent its whole life in NC. Complete maintenance history, well taken care of, no accidents, newish tires... drives like its brand new.

I’m not saying I got a great deal, but there aren’t a lot of 2011-2013 4wd Limiteds with less than 150k for less than 22k all in.

I paid what I paid because I’ll get at least 100k out of the vehicle. If it had been up north or had a lot of owners or any maintenance issues, I wouldn’t have paid that much. They also threw in free delivery to my house, which was a big deal for me as I’m super busy and was alone when I made the decision to buy, 2 hours from my house.

You are pretty my exactly describing my experience. This 4runner is exactly like yours, one owner, excellent overall condition and 22k all in. I think I am going to go ahead and get it.

We live in S.C.Pa n we were in the market for 2011-14 4runner....so i started searching the internet n found 2 we were interested in at the time.
The 1st one was in Sykesville...went to look at it....11 limited,Gray,103000....came from Mass. I looked it over..didnt like oxidation in the engine compartment but the kicker was the frame....scary...so we left.
On the way home we decided to drive down to Salisbury,Md. They just listed an 11 limited,Blue,64000 mi. Sooo 2 1/2 hrs. later we were there. It wasnt cleaned yet ...so we saw everything as it came in.
You could tell it wasnt hardly driven....there was a few dings n dents (since fixed with PDR n thats AMAZING what a good technician can do). When i looked at the under carriage n frame....It was like new...factory stickers still on just about everything....Engine was just about spotless n wasnt nothing done to it......SOLD!!!
We paid 22,500.00 n im very sayified!
It came with 3rd row seats...Factory rubber mats thru out...factory carpeted mat looked brand new.
Sorry for the long rant...in the middle of detailing it now....
    They are out there...be patient!

Now THAT is a great deal! In fact I’d say that is a STEAL. Well done!

I will say that while we’ve been looking for a long time, we’ve missed out on some killer deals because I can only go to drive/buy on Saturdays. The wife and I and our boys just moved here from the UK so she didn’t have her drivers license until last week. NC DMV have decided that they don’t need to do their jobs anymore, but that’s a different story.

At the OP, being in Maryland, your main worry should be rust and oxidation. Any signs of that and you should walk away.

I was also informed to always check that the rear window rolls down as that is an issue with older 4runners. And make sure that the electronic running boards are functional.

Seems about $3k to $5k too high for the year and miles.

    Here's a Maryland Cars.com search:
    https://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchresults.action/?mdId=20482&mkId=20088&page=1&perPage=100&prMx=25000&rd=150&searchSource=PAGINATION&sort=price-lowest&yrId=27381,34923,39723,47272,51683,56007&zc=20602

I'd try to go to the next price range $27k and under range and the latest body style:

Oh ok. I'm in RI. Someone had told me there seemed to be a strong demand for the pre-facelift models in the Ohio area, I was just wondering if you were there and it is priced accordingly for that area.

Seems like values for these have gone UP this past year.

I guess if you like it, and it has all the features you want, go for it. There shouldn't be any reason you shouldn't be able to get another 140k miles out of it, and it's less than half the price of a new one. All that counts is that YOU feel like you got a fair deal.

When I bought mine last year, I didn't even haggle with the dealer. My thinking was, I like it, and it's not like there are a lot of other 10-13 Trails out there with less than 80k miles. I can hem and haw over a few bucks and possibly look around for another few months, or I can just sign the papers, drive the thing home, and get on with my life. I was comfortable with the deal at the time, and seeing how pricing is now, I'm VERY happy with the deal I made.
