    This is exactly right! Spot on! The worst riding vehicle on the road is a stock JL rubicon and when I put 35s on with 9 inch wheels it was a complete game changer. This is the only mod I plan to do eventually is better tires and wheels. Tires do as much for off roading as alot of the things we are arguing about!

    True. The tires the off-road came with were pretty much minivan tires.

    Well mine aren’t a whole hell of a lot better. The tread is “ok” not great and the sidewall is a joke. It looks like lightning bolts. It’s almost embarrassing. But they’ll have to do for now. KM3 are on my list soon or MT Baja boss if they’ll eventually make one in stock size.

    I'm hoping to do some MT's next year as well. I'm going to order wheels today possibly, and I'm really eyeing up some Yokohama Geolander MT's. We'll see how many times I change my mind between now and then.:rolleyes:

    I know one guy with JL rubicon that swears by them! They’re a great price! Do yourself a favor and watch for a KM3 sale. They’re worth it and look awesome. With your rig you’d climb about anything.

    I agree with the tire problems. But if Toyota thru on better tires on the Pro or OffRoad you probably being paying more thru them then what your paying now. So I think it’s better if the buyer just gets his own so you can pick out what tire you want.

    Kevin, Blame it on the COVID. That’s sucks. It’s like I went thru. I test fitted a 285 Toyo tires AT3 and liked them then my tire guy could not get them. He’s having issues getting tires. So I decided on the RG.

    I saw you or someone posted something about articulation scores earlier in this thread. I’d be really curious what the pro articulation score is. Seen anything? I’m curious as to if it is actually better or if it really is mostly an on road type addition.

    I looked, but couldn't find anything. I would expect the OR with KDSS to score higher due to the increased articulation. The PRO should score the same as a non KDSS OR due to having the same fixed sway bars.

    yeah but that’s an assumption. For the cost of kdss which is extremely low for a suspension add from factory I am skeptical it goes beyond more than standard. It provides much on road capability I know but I’d love to see the actual numbers if it really does make much difference. It’s ok. Maybe by tomorrow when the next new thread pops up that devolves into kdss vs not someone will find something.

    Y’all crack me up. I love it. The one thing I have read is it does limit travel so some have ripped it out for this reason (which is beyond dumb if you paid for it) I would have to assume that since you have a limit to how much you can lift one with KDSS that it does have limitations. The one think my buddy who has it does always say is cornering and sharper turns are night and day with the KDSS compared to non KDSS OR or SR5. Not sure compared to Pro with fox suspension but I’d say it’s pretty nice!

    Read the article. The Landcruiser has it, and for good reason.

    Yes, it is an assumption. But, it is based on an understanding of what KDSS is. In order for the PRO to do better, the non-KDSS off-road would also have to do better. They have the same sway bars.

    Those people are idiots for buying the wrong vehicle. At the point when KDSS will limit travel, the standard sway bar the PRO comes with will limit travel as well. That's why people who build rock crawlers usually remove their sway bars

    Again, every sway bar will cause this limitation. Even the one in the PRO.

    Oh I read it. But I’ve also read articles by some who claim it’s mostly an on road gain. Look I have no doubt it’s amazing and I looked at getting one to be honest but I didn’t like the wheels and tires and would want to upgrade suspension. Had I done all this I would’ve kept my rubicon with the e-disco I know a lot about. I don’t claim to know a ton about the KDSS. But the Land Cruiser and Lexus do have it which tells me it’s definitely an upgrade but with that I don’t see a ton of those on the trails so that throws me off some since 99% of those are made for the road ONLY!

    So it explains it as a loose sway bar off road but stiff on road and no real disconnection?

    This was one reason I didn't want the PRO. I knew I would upgrade the suspension, and those Fox shocks are about the only functional upgrade they come with.

    Did you notice the part where the Landcruiser out-flexed the Jeep with the sway bar disconnect?

    Expensive and gigantic as they are, the Landcruiser is still a badass off-road rig.

    Agree. It would be my #1 choice if I had money to burn. 100% the best on road/off road vehicle under $100k and maybe best regardless of cost. Maybe one day!

    Disconnect is a loose explanation, but it has a similar effect on articulation.

    One neat thing that you don't hear mentioned is how far off camber you can get without the truck tilting. I can be practically stuffed on opposite corners, and the 4runner is still level side to side

    People wouldn't know what to think of a brand new Landcruiser on 37's with full armor just squeezing through the trails getting scratched up. :D
