after alternator install my truck wont fire up

    1989 toyota 4runner blac aknd red
    headers, air intake, aftermarket exaust, suspension and body lifts, startin on exo-frame for crawling
    so i had sucessfully istalled the alternator on my 89 4runner. then realized it threw the belt. so i turned off thew truck put the belt on and as i was tighning it back up i arced the altenator (because i forgot to take the negative terminal back off) no dash lights, sterio, nothing. although the headlights come on and seem bright. could it just be a fuse problem or did i really screw up? appreciate anything you guys can throw my way thanks.

    My first thought would be a fuse.

    Have you checked all the fuses? The fuse between the alternator/fuse block/battery is an 80 amp slow blow fuse, circled in the following pic.

    Things and stuff and such
    IIRC the headlights are on their own circuit between the battery and the main 80 amp fuse, for safety
