stock 2015 Trail with modifications to come

I solved the problem by installing a Vanguard bull bar with skid plate at a lot less cost than the TRD plate only. It is chrome plated stainless steel and allows for mounting extra driving lights while protecting the bumper. The skid plate covers a vulnerable area where Toyota only has a plastic piece between the bumper and first engine skid plate.

 

Purchased and installed black off-road wheels that are still 17 in. diameter, but one inch wider than stock with BF Goodrich KO2 tires. They work great on rough trails and mud.

I got the wheels from America's Tire along with the BFG K02 tires. The brand is MB Wheels TKO. It might be their own wheel. They were very reasonably priced and have held up well, even off-road. The wheels are one inch wider than stock and make the best use of the tire tread with. The size is 17 X 8.5 6-139.70 25 BKMTXX, with the offset being 25, I believe. I have never had any interference with steering, even lock to lock. They come with a black cover plate, but I choose to leave them off.

 

I said there would be more modifications to come and I am finally installing a Borla cat-back exhaust, two different sets of LED spot lights, V-link snow tire chains and black dip-it application to several locations to tone down some chrome and gray body panels. I will post these changes soon.

 

does the borla void your warranty?

 

Only if Toyota can prove it caused a failure that you're trying to claim under warranty, which I highly doubt an exhaust will.

 

Drunner is correct. I talked with Toyota customer service today and they said they do not have a list of modifications that could void their warranty. Toyota does recommend only using their brand of parts and their dealer installation, however warranty voiding could come only if it can be shown that the modification caused any of their parts to fail. Because anyone that purchases an off-road vehicle would usually make modifications, I specifically discussed aftermarket wheels and tires, exhaust systems and extra driving lights. None of these are listed to be of concern.
