Can I change setting to get a beep when I turn off car with headlights on? I changed the setting for the headlight to go off immediately after I shut off ignition coz I always forget to turn off headlights.

Argg, I hate the lack of auto on/off headlights and footwell lights on the OR trim.

Headlights are auto on/off though... They will auto off after all doors have closed and the timer has expired.

Maybe I don’t understand your issue.

I would consider auto on/off if the headlights turn on automatically when it gets dark and stay off otherwise.

when you lock your doors with your headlights on, they will automatically turn off.

If only there was a contraption of some sort, almost like a switch, that was really close to your left hand while it rested on the steering wheel. Then your hand, upon a series of synapses firing in your brain, triggered by you recognizing the onset of darkness, could rotate this switch forward 40 degrees, and the lights would come on.

Jesus, wears me out thinking about it. Much easier to have the automatic feature. Fuck that carpal tunnel.

I understand that at times you find yourself bored at home and your hand feels the need to do something. Well, when that happens, try to refrain from mocking others and instead focus on threads where you can add value. Since this is a forum about 4runners and for owners of 4runners looking for help, I think criticizing and mocking others is not in the best interest of this community. Just my 2 cents.

The headlights turn off after you lock the truck. You don't need to worry about changing any settings. End the thread.

"Add value" to the site with thought provoking threads like these, as started by you?

Way to contribute to the community. Maybe if I stick around long enough I can come up with a similar helpful topic, maybe something along the lines of "why do I have to bury my shit 12" deep when bears just poop on the ground?".

I think you guys are missing his point. With headlights off, you get a beep when you lock doors/arm the alarm with the fob. However, if you leave the headlights on when you exit and you press the lock button, there is no beep. Leaving the headlights on when you exit for some reason prevents the beep feedback upon lock/arming.

He's asking if there is a setting to change that, to allow for a beep when arming/locking if you leave the headlights on.

This isn’t true on my 4Runner. I still get the lock beep when I exit the vehicle and the lights are on. They then turn off after the timer expires.

I’ll check in techstream if there’s an audible beep setting for locking doors w/lights on.

Hit the lock button twice: beep / lock / arm alarm / headlights off

On my 2020 SR5P there is no beep when arming with the headlights on. Exactly what the OP is experiencing. I've always thought it odd too.
