I'm looking at a couple of 3rd Gen 4Runners and wanting some input on pricing. I've found a 1 owner 98 SR5 with 162k on it with timing belt and water pump replaced at 139k. It is a private seller and their bottom dollar is 6k. Is this way over priced? I will look at the vehicle in person on Monday but from pics I've seen it looks very clean. I've looked through the buyers guide but can't find an updated price guide and not sure how accurate KBB is.
    Thanks in advance

No, I didn't end up purchasing the one from the original post, or the one posted here for sale. I did end up getting a 1999 Limited with the Rear Dif Locker that has 192k on it. Got it for $4800 which I thought was a pretty good deal. It will need a little work here and there but I feel most of that work should not be too expensive. I'll get some more pictures up once I get her all washed up and some new shoes on her next week!

    Wow! it looks clean!

Looks just like mine! I have a 2001, same color, and limited package.

Just make sure you do all the maintenance before you do mods..lol

Definitely will do maintenance to begin with.. Only thing I'm doing right away is getting some good AT tires to get ready for winter. The highway tread tires just aren't gonna cut it!

image.jpg Hey I realized on my drive to work yesterday that my heater is not blowing hot air. The digital thermostat control does seem to work but I am getting a constant clicking under the glove box from this relay. Could that be the issue? I don't have a repair manual yet so not 100% sure what this is. (I've also checked thermostat which seems to be working just fine.)

Actually disregard this post.. Found the culprit!! It was the heater valve that was stuck. Will prob need to replace it.

I had seen a video online of that could be a possible problem.. I had the AC turned on and saw where the heater valve was at, turned it to heat and it didn't move. At the moment I just have manually moved the valve to get the water to yhthe heater core. will try and replace the valve this coming weekend. Also when I had manually moved the heater valve the clicking stopped under the glove box.

Did you replace the heater control valve? Mine is leaking and I need to replace asap, did you go with OEM or after market? Thanks in advance
