The heat in Az is in the 100+ and my kids keep complaining it's too hot at the back that they prefer we use the Kia Sedona. Not gonna happen kiddo's! LOL..

Anyway, I am thinking of installing a fan that I can plug in at the back.

I am looking for ideas on how I will do it.

Your input will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

I got this one and put it on the rear passenger side window:
Zone Tech 4.5" 12V Stepless Speed Car Fan - Premium Quality Adjustment Suction Cup Auto Powerful Quiet Stepless Speed Change Rotatable 12V Car Fans Cooling Air Fan https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JGQEP9K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_qlImFb9QTA2MM

it kinda works but still hot as hell in the way back until the a/c gets cold in the front and gets back there... it’s all about the angles on the vents and time

Solved ! Bought a fan from walmart and I attached to the handle of my cooler... Also just had the Ceramic window tints this morning hich made a very big difference. When I asked my kiddos, they said sunlight doesn't hurt anymore, they said it just felt like light touching their skin... sorry for the bad phone pictures.

Not sure if you have window tint but a quality tint isn't always about looks, it blocks a TON of UV rays, keeping the cab cooler and making AC work less hard, it's instantly noticeable for me in the TX and TN heat.

I sound like an ad but I promise I'm a normal opinionbot, not a salesbot.

My '20 definitely struggles to cool off more than my '08. It's not the temp coming out of the vents but the volume of air. It just doesn't blow as hard as the fan in my '08.

Kids in 2nd row complaining!?! Tell em to shut up. LOL. Ask my kids about sitting in 3rd row on a hot day.
Vent position matters. A 12v fan helps too.

Victor Quezada tel: 6023834167. He can drive to your house and do it in your garage. Great guy. Please tell him Don Solomon recommended him. I don't get anything from him.. just want to help him. He is highly recommended on FB 4runner groups...

The ceramic he does for $400, any tint/darkness combination you like including sunroof if you have it.

There are other choices from $200 to $300

OP living in the AZ, You probably already have a good windshield sun shield, but for those that don't, it's a necessity. The AC ducts can't cool the truck off until the ducts themselves do. With the dash and front seat interior cooking the whole process can take a half hour or more. Some days I will forget to put the shield in and the steering wheel is too hot to touch. These aren't the best AC systems in the world so all the advantages you can add are a big help. I need to tint my 5th gen windows one day too.

After buying the 4Runner after 6 Fords, Explorers and Edges, I find that Toyota is years behind.
My Fords had controls for driver and passenger. You could set the temp by the number, mine was 68 degrees, my wife's was usually 78.
Never a problem. Now....wife complains it's too cold. Then shuts off all her vents.
We'll see what the Bronco looks like .....whenever they have them for sale.

Not sure what you are talking about Toyota being years behind as a whole.

4R is but my wifes Highlander has dual zone controls.

My 12' LE has dual AC control. I owned an Explorer for about 2 months until I heard the timing chain rattle they're famous for. So I dumped it quick. It was comfortable, drove nice, and had good power. Its really a shame actually. Could have been a great vehicle, but Ford put substandard parts in the timing chain system. Reliability thats years behind always gets my vote. Good luck with your Bronco! I really hope they hit the market soon, so I can test drive one with the covid restrictions in place...:mudding:

I have dual zone in the LTD---------
I do agree that it would be nice to have "rear AC - with controls"---- have that in a landcrusier, and the dog has icicles on his whiskers when he pops out.
