I’ve had all kinds of tires on my 4runnner. Any recommendations on something that looks just a little aggressive but rides nice on the highway??

Michelin LTX AT2. Subtle all-terrain that rides very good on the road. Have ran a few sets and they last a long time (60,000+). I've also had good experience with Toyo AT2. The Michelin is a little less aggressive.

My 4Runner had ATs on it when I bought it, so I cannot say. The Michelin AT2s are very mild and ride great. Closest to a highway tire I have found.

My Wildpeaks ride great on the highway. Ordered a set of toyos as I'm upsizing and figured I would try them.

I have 30k on my Toyo AT2s. They still look brand new. I do not rotate them like I should, but they are holding up great, much better than the stock tires did.

A common trait of the Toyos is how they are a little loud, not loud like BFG KO’s, but still a bit of howl. Toyo also just came out with the AT3, which significantly increased their winter rating along with general overall improvements.

On my Pro I have been beyond impressed with the stock Nittos Terra Grapplers. In particular with how incredible they are in ice / snow conditions while still in 2wd. Have never had an AT tire perform as well. They also look good, ride great, and are quiet. No idea on tread life since rig has less than 10k miles.

On my Tundra last year I was in the market for tires and ultimately decided on the new (at the time) Cooper AT3 XLT. They look great, ride super smooth, stock quiet even with 33”, better warranty than Toyo, slightly cheaper, and American made. Very happy with them. Sometimes they were a little better on ice / snow, but such is life with oversized AT tires. It very well may be a Tundra issue, and not a tire issue as well since neither of my previous two Tundras are the greatest in 2wd in snow / ice either.

Have BFG KO2’s on my work rig (2017 Tahoe). They have ridiculously good tread life left after 60k miles, great winter traction, and look good. Issues are they are very loud, dont ride overly smooth, and hard to balance.

I asked the manager of the big tire shop in Whitehorse, Yukon what was the best tire for the Dempster Highway, and he said, Nitto Terra Grapplers, hands down the best.
I like K02s, and don’t find them noisy. They have about 20,000 km on them. Same as new. A big thing with 4x4 vehicles is alignment. If you get even a little out, especially with off road driving, and your tires get even the most invisible cup in them, they will be noisy. The guys who complain the loudest about noisy tires are the guys who aren’t very religious about their alignment.

I swapped out my stock tire for Nitto Terra Grapplers, they are quiet, and did not affect ride at all.

I ran Hankook Dynapro ATM tires on my FJ for years and sold it with 200k miles! I usually replace my tires at 50k miles no matter if needed or not since I sell them as used. I ran 3 set on my FJ and now I just installed the new Hankook Dynapro AT2 with 60k mile warranty on my 4runner. My daily drive is 50 miles 80% at highway speed and they been great so far and averaging between 22-24 MPG. Her are the tires on my 4runner.

I have run Goodyear Wranglers for a very long time. Never less than 50,000 miles per set. A choice of tread with or without kevlar in sidewalls here: https://www.goodyear.ca/en-CA/tires/search/2020_Toyota_4Runner_TRD-Pro

I was very happy with my BFG KO2's. Minimal noise, no noticeable loss of fuel economy, good looking. These were removed after 29K miles with 80% of their tread left.

    20200321_145110.jpg

I have heard of people not liking them in wet conditions, but had no problems personally. Due to the interlocking tread pattern, I could see them having a tendency to hydroplane in deeper water.

Still running the Nitto's that came with my new TRD Pro. I will go with recommended P265/70R17's, and go with Kevlar sidewalls when the time comes to buy new tires. No comment on what fits a Limited 4Runner as I don't own one.

i have these on my 4Runner. Wrangler Duratrac. 265 70 17. No rub at all. First set I have ever owned so can’t speak for how long they will last. Have 18,000 on them now. Ride nice, would buy them again. I do not know how the clearance would be dIfferent on a limited. However, I can say they seem a bit slippery in the rain at times but seem to get better as the wear.

I think this have to do with the wheel also, maybe the offset is too much different sometime. I talked with the dealer today, and he said that the 265-70-17 should fit if mounted on right wheel. I now try to find a good set of wheel to replace my 20inch limited wheel.

It’s my experience that you can get away with a 0 offset if you have 4.5 backspacing. I’ve read people are running -6 and 4.5 BS with no rubbing as well. But that is not on limited. Not sure with the extra plastic
