I have. I spent a little to much time at speed on rutted washboard. The dampeners got hot, faded, and then started puking out fluid while smoking. That’s when I upgraded to Kings.

You don't want that remote connect system if you plan on off roading / going to remote places and staying overnight. It kills the battery in short order. Toyota hasn't mastered it yet. That's Hyundai shit that Toyota doesn't need to sell their vehicles.

Our new 2020 Rav4 TRD OR has it. Didn't drive it for 2 days and the battery was dead.
Turns out it's a common problem that reared it's head w/ Lexus.

Just wait for the dead battery complaints to show up here.

About the only thing I wish my lifted non-KDSS Off Road had is dual climate control and maybe heated seats.

I liked the PRO Desert Tan color. The Roof Rack looks dumb - like a FJ Cruiser left over. But whatever.

I like that army green and voodoo blue paint....I wish they were easier to find.
Almost never see one on the road?

Another reason for not having remote connect? Insurance companies pay for your driving records. Toyota signs you up and it's like pulling teeth to get them to shut it off. Even off I see the light going green red and off. I guess I really shouldn't worry as Google/Apple sell your crap the same way. Uncle .gov is watching all of us

More info on the parasitic drain from the remote connect system. Taken from a Facebook Rav4 Club:

Regarding the dead battery issue for RAV4's not being driven for several days, it may be parasitic draw from the computer(s) in the RAV4. I am stating this because a couple of years ago I owned a Lexus IS 350 and had the same thing happen. The car sat for two days and had a dead battery.

The Lexus message board stated it could be caused by a Lexus server that sends out updates to the cars had crashed during the update process and did not complete the update. This caused the car computer to wait for completion of the update and was the parasitic draw.

I was told to disconnect the battery cables and charge the battery, re-connect the battery cables, start the car and take it for a short ten mile drive. The car computer checked for updates and completed the process. After that, no more dead battery issues.

I am not saying this will fix your RAV4, but Toyota and Lexus are the best built cars I have ever owned and I'm 64 years old. They have had common problems between the two for years, after all, they are basically the same company.

Here's the Technical Service Bullettin (TSB) regarding the computer causing the parasitic drain. My intention here is to help you and hopefully not offend anyone. I am not a mechanic, but know enough to take care of most problems with any car I owned. Thanks for listening and have a good day!

I went through the same thing here in SoCal, they wanted 10K over list. I ended up buying from a dealer in Oklahoma over the internet and paying list plus $1500 for shipping to my door for my AG Pro.

Isn't there a way to disable the remote connect?

Just so you know, this is a very incorrect statement. Day 3 with my stock Limited I had it up a BLM Rd that is for UTV's and heeps. Driving is a skill, and excellent spotters are worth more than any rack or bumper or shock around. Live and learn. Bought my 19 Limited day 4 of covid lockdown for a song, (gm demo) and passed on the red SR5 off road that was 20k more. SWMBO loves the climate control and heated/cooled seats. YMMV
