They are cool looks nicer than the 7p version and some others. Here's something to think about and I'll try and find the video but a guy did a comparison of these style snatch blocks and the old heavy af bastards. This new style actually was more straining on the winch due to the amount of friction they create and he calculated it all out and stuff to see what you'd loose in pull capacity because of the friction. I still think there is a place for both of them. Also he talked about that style and the heat that can be generated vs the old style snatch block which can shorten the life span of the rope, personally I think that argument is a little bit meh at best.

Here's that video of course it's aussies they tend to think about all sorts of things. I want to say there was one other video I saw comparing the 2 as well.

In a effort to avoid the first day of the wife’s monthly wrath, I took it upon myself to disappear and live another day. Ran up to one of the last places we have left in Florida to wheel (if you want to call it that) and ended up taking it easy due to a metric shit ton of Jeep clubs in the forest today stopping and gathering to spot every little bump in the road and then have therapy sessions after they all barely escaped death on the treacherous obstacles the rugged Florida terrain offers.

Anyway, I decided today would be a good day to play with the cameras and actually start learning how to use them. By cameras, I mean the iPhone ProMax and GoPro Hero 8.

Installed the Dobinsons 675 3” rear coils today. Eibach 700 pound coils going on the ADS up front soon. 650’s coming off so I can lose some preload.

20k on the Firestone MT2’s and they are killing me. Drove 2600 miles on the highway last week on a trip to Texas and back and the tires hated it.

Ordered a set of Toyo AT/III 285/75R17 since I’m moving out west soon anyway. No need for MT’s in Arizona.

Only 3 of them are worth selling and they’re spoken for. One of the tires started shredding tread lugs.

How are you liking them so far. I've heard some very mixed reviews of them. Surprised you went with an AT and not one of the more aggressive hybrids.

They’re actually not too bad. So far I’m happy with them. I have a lot of highway miles coming up and the MT’s just weren’t going to cut it for me. It came down to these or the Nitto Ridge Graps and the Toyo’s were $221/tire compared to the Nitto’s being $300/tire.

So, the Toyos are gone. Tire shop sold me C loads when I ordered E loads. Returned them and put the Firestone’s back on since E loads aren’t available yet.

Also sold the Victory rack and put the Pro rack on. Realized after my last wheeling trip that the victory rack was just too heavy and generating a ton of unnecessary weight that was making off camber situations more unsafe than they should be.

Okay, tire situation resolved. AT3’s turned out to be C loads so I returned them and got Toyo RT’s in 295/70/17.

I’ve honestly never heard someone say this about a roof rack, especially guys with full racks and RTT’a doing heavy wheeling.

The Vortex Magnifier is awesome. The SIG MSR took some getting use to. The field of view isn’t quite what I want, I may go back to an EOTech Holo.

Most guys doing “heavy wheeling” with all that gear aren’t crawling rocks and getting into 30 degree off camber situations. I do and it was dangerous to the point where the weight up top needed to come off.

Yeah, it’s not a suspension issue on my rig.

I also don’t run any sway bars because I actually wheel my rig in a manner that most self proclaimed “hard core” guys dont do. Rock crawlers don’t run with a bunch of useless shit on top of their rigs for a reason. I’m not an overlander.

Nope, not at all. 7 previous Tacomas and all were great until the 3rd gen. Love the 4Runner and it’s so much more capable on 33’s than the Tacoma on 35’s. Plus, the fact my gear stays dry on trips is huge.
