Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
I'm happy with my Off Road (non-premium non-KDSS) once it was lifted.
Only thing I wish I had from the Pro or Premium OR would be heated seats.

Price difference between the Off Road and the Pro is pretty significant. Allowing for lots of mods.

What? The price difference from an SR5 to an Off-road is less than $2K

I went new because new-ish used 4runners go for close to new prices. Every trim has excellent resale value, not just the PRO.

An off-road is mechanically the same as a PRO, aside from the suspension. You can get an off road, lift it, get better tires, and some recovery gear and still save a ton over a PRO.

An SR5 will get you just about anywhere an off road will. For the extra $2K, the off-road gives you a locker and some cool traction control features. Whether you need them or not, they do add some capability.

If you plan on just hitting casual trails, any trim will get you just about anywhere.

Edit: not trying to crap on the PRO. They're totally awesome. I just wanted to clear it up that they're not going to be more capable than an off road.

Yes but the difference between an sr5 and a PRO is like $7K. $4K or more between the ORP and the PRO

allegedly there is a tiny difference and that’s the fox suspension in the Pro gives another inch of travel.

Oh, yeah. More probably (I haven't looked). When I got mine, PRO's were going for $48K+, and the MSRP on mine was around $42.5K.

But, the message I quoted said ORP so I thought you meant off-road premium.

Right. Which is why I said "aside from the suspension."

But, you can do a better suspension upgrade for less money than the price difference between the two trims.

I just meant with off road package. Probably the same thing lol. I got my pro at MSRP for 50,800. They don’t offer dealer incentives on them so typically they wouldn’t go below that. A lot of dealers though would tack on a dealer markup. Saw one near me go for $55k. Another sold near me that had a $17K markup (yes 76,000 for a 4 runner) I doubt it sold for that but the audacity of it is insane.

Don't get me wrong. The PRO is totally awesome for someone who doesn't want to mess with it. It comes with better tires than the off road as well.

EDIT: congratulations on the babies (twins?)

Yes sir! Landed a great deal on it. 22k miles (now 26k) owned by an older gentlemen who took good care of it. Couldn’t pass up on the deal so that’s why I went with my 2018 vs new.

Oh. I was comparing prices between trims. Not new VS used.

27K is still a good deal.

So no you don’t need a pro

There are a ton of differences alone in an SR5 to an ORP plus some adds for the 20. IMO it's definitely worth it.

It does not have the JBL system the PRO has but the ORP has an upgraded system over the standard version. The radio in the ORP sounds pretty good in my opinion but i'm easy. lol

Main differences are locker, multi terrain select, hood scoop, and TSS and updated head unit. First two rarely actually get used and are cool to have (bro points), and the rest is just cosmetic. TSS annoys me personally, cant stand it in my dads tundra and it’s just more electronics that’ll need fixing at some point. All that to me did not make me want to spend 13k more:crapstorm:

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
Dude, I use the locker & Atrac all the time. Haven't found the need for terrain select or crawl control yet.

I wish Toyota would sell a stripped base SR5 with 4x4 and just the rear locker.
Closest to that is a Nissan Pro4X pickup.
