Looking to purchase a tire repair kit just to carry around in my rig just in case. I was looking at these repair kits from 4Wheel Parts:

    1. ARB Speedy Seal Series II Repair Kit
    2. Smittybilt Tire Repair Kit
    3. Trail Gear Tire Plug Kit

My buddy told me not to waste my money on those kits above. He said just go to Wal-Mart and pick up a Slime Tire Repair Kit for $5.88 it will save you a lot of money.

What do you guys use and how much did you pay for it?

    I’m
I’m looking to get one of these too. I never had any of those pressured sealant cans work very well though. Especially if you’re in the middle of nowhere.

I agree those pressured sealant cans are garbage. I might pick up the one from ARB looks durable and easy to use. No way I'm purchasing the one from Wal-Mart looks too cheap. Funny my coworker said that he used the one from Wal-Mart and he said when he inserted the T-Handle Insert Tool into his tires it broke in half the other piece went inside the tire.

Just get a good Plug "Kit" & one of these https://www.pepboys.com/onlineflow-...ble-air-compressor/product/9892794?quantity=1 You'll be able to inflate the tire to 1: Get to a safe place to plug it IF on a busy Hiway!.2> You NEED the tire to be Over inflated to make it easier to do a plug insertion. Just my $0.02 of advice here.

You do realize that this pump cannot fill LT tires to a high enough PSI.

No one causing a pissing contest. Just FYI you recommending a pump that cannot inflate LT tires. now if you don't mind running it low after the repair by all means it should work to a point.

No need to think everyone that disagrees its trying to start an argument.

I used a Slime tire repair kit from Walmart once, and it got the job done. I would probably carry something from a more reputable manufacturer if I was going way off the grid, though.

I still don't understand the reasoning for this. I know it's based on load ratings, but I just don't understand why I need to run higher pressure in the same size tire to support the same load. I ran my KO2's (load range C) at 34-35 and they wore perfectly. According to the calculator I used, I should have run them at 38. I could understand airing up when hauling and towing. I just don't get the logic behind running around with rock-hard tires when the truck is empty.

Either way, as you said, 35 PSI should be more than enough to get someone to a gas station.

Here you go. 35psi is fine to get you to the gas station. But if you looking to fill it all the way up not happening.

I've read all of that. I understand that LT tires require higher pressure to achieve the same load rating.

20 would get you to a gas station, as long as you take it slow. I've run 50 miles or more on 25. It's just a matter of adjusting how you drive until you have a chance to air up to proper pressure.

Never said you wouldn't make it to the gas station.

Again I was Only giving My advice to his question about tire repair kit. He never said anything NOR did I about an LT tire that YOU referred to! Disagreements/Other issues here HAVE been B.S. By certain individuals that I will refrain from.

True, but it was a valid point. Many people who off-road a lot run LT tires. I wouldn't buy an inflator that wouldn't get my tires to proper pressure. Most 12 volt inflators will go much higher than 35 PSI.

I'm NOT saying ANYTHING about LT tires!! I Was responding to 1st post About Tire repair. To get tire re-Inflated to GET to a safe spot IF,IF on a busy Hiway to install a plug!!! Dam Now I see why people get hosed/Banned here,I made a SIMPLE suggestion for a "tool" And Now I'm questioned on that tool NOT beining capable of sustaining the PSI requirements of a TIRE that WAS Never in the equation!?! Friends Previously:hattip: can't say more

I got the ARB kit now for about 5-7 years, never regret that I spend a few dollars more. The tools are good and last, fixed already more then 20 tires with that kit, sure I had to fill up the plugs but that’s it. I had to do it once with a cheap kit... almost end up in the hospital because the tools are flimsy and the tire was stubborn!
Only thing I add was a tube of rubber cement - works great as a lubricant for the plug
What I got from Walmart was a tire inflator, purchased it at the same time, no regrets nether and I used it successfully on my 2500 with the 10plys

I bought this Viair 300P Air Compressor a year ago and keep it in my 4Runner. I've used it a bunch of times for my Nissan Frontier, 4Runner, and riding mower. It's rated for 33 inch tires.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X90YUO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For the longest time with my Nissan Frontier - I was using a cheap Slime plastic tire inflator that runs off the cigarette lighter. Viair takes 1/3 the time.

Note I've read lots of good reviews on the Viair 88P on many different forums. I just wanted one that was a little nicer / heavier duty.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
What are you on? Windows 95? If you're going to use a Microsoft browser, use Edge. It's probably on your hard drive right now.

As an aside, I just looked up Internet Explorer on my Windows 10 PC, and it's still there! Wow!

Anyway, I'm going to have to look into some of these kits linked to here. I should carry one.
