because changing the collar is like having an adjustable coil over, and loading from the bottom doesn’t take away from the factory droop or up travel. Think about it all the coil over for aftermarket and the Bilstein 5100’s adjust from the bottom for height.... this kit from westcott does that and uses a small shim up top that’s minimal. To me it makes way more sense then spacing the top of the strut for lift.

I don't understand how a spacer on the bottom of the coil is any different from a spacer on top of the coil. You're still extending the strut either way and by doing that, you're loosing down travel and gaining up travel.

The adjustable struts like bilsteins 5100s, 6112s, and Eibach's are essentially a spacer lift on the bottom of the coil, but their advantage is that the struts are longer so you're not bottoming out the shock as fast on the down travel.

Your not extending the strut dude your pre loading the spring to get the lift like adjusting a coilover and on the 20’s trd pro there already an 1” taller than previous. Extending the strut would be putting a spacer at the top of the strut.

To preload a spring means you're putting pressure on it to compress it further.

You're not preloading your coils by using a spacer, top or bottom.

If you were preloading the coil, you wouldn't be lifting the truck.

A spacer works by adding space either on the top or bottom of the coil in order to extend its height and thereby lift the vehicle.

The price difference between this spacer lift and the Cornfed spacer lift really like to know is there a difference? Because I have not seen anyone on the forums posting about doing this lift.

Can explain maybe as well, but call the guy. It’s not a spacer because there’s nothing going on between the spring and the collar to create space with a third party piece. Replacing the lower collar is like adjusting a coilover to get more lift Guys it’s simple. And it looks completely factory. If you guys don’t see the value that’s ok, I like the design of it there’s nothing like it that I’ve found in the market. Like I said I’ll post pics on here for you guys and give my feed back.

I would like to go with this set up. Just like to be sure about it. I just got off the phone with Jeff from Westcott discussing things about it. I suggest anyone interested call him and he can explain everything.

Hard to believe if it was that simple eibach, dobbins, toytec etc never figured it out. Good luck but I'll watch from the sidelines.
Adjusting a coil is ummm, a spacer unless its the new eibach kit

Heres a fully adjustable coil and it eliminates a need for spacers from the 4runner lean from right to left

I have a 2019 TRD PRO runner and I plan on lifting it with spacer . So from what I understand not going over 2" is "safe" . Now I am looking for the right numbers for balancing de height ( to compensate for the small factory nose dive ) should be correct for something like 1.5" front and 1 rear"?

Looks good mike, How’s it sitting from side to side. Is it level? I never got the video from Jeff for the install on the rear. Did you do the install? Also did you do alignment?

I bought a pro so I didnt have to touch the suspension for awhile. This thread now confirms that I am glad I bought the Pro and Im certainly not adding a spacer or anything now until I redo it all 7-8 years down the road.

Is your level from right to left in the rear? Mine was 3/4" lower right from the factory. Front was level though

hmmm...havn't noticed but then again not something ive checked. I will take a look next time its on a level surface. Ive read on this forum that there is a lean due to the gas tank and driver being on the same side.

so did I, just enhanced with a little firmer ride and more clearance. Less body roll and nose dive. Cheers I’m enjoying it, this is how it should of come from Toyota!

Toytec has there new spacer lift for the 2019-2020 Pro fox suspension out now. Just like the westcott design. Looking at Mikestrdpro AG Pic. I have the new Eibach springs waiting to go on but second guessing myself because comparing pics with the Eibach springs Mike AG looks higher. Anyone see difference in comparing?

The same 4runner can look different at most anytime in a different location. In my driveway alone I've taken 3 different measurements up to a 1/2" difference. for me I marked off with tape a spot in my garage so when I make adjustments I've got a true before and after reference. Even with every day driving, sometimes mine looks lower than others

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you get a slightly higher spring rate with Eibach, but looking at the two springs in the photos, the stock Toyota rear spring looks heavier. When I installed my Elka suspension for my ORP, I ended up cancelling the adjustable Eibach I ordered for the rear because I thought they'd be too high with 1 1/2" lift in front. I wanted basically a TRD Pro look, and I like running stock tire size. So, I used a 1/2" Cornfed spacer on my stock rear springs. Using a small spacer for applications like this is fine as it doesn't affect the travel of the shock. I asked Elka, and they said it was no problem with their 2.5 IFP rear shock. The result is perfect i.e. level.

I've watched the Wescott video and it sure seems like the Eibach springs would be a way easier install.
