5th gen 4Runners in scenic locations

Seeing as this is the "4R in scenic places" thread, I figured we'd see at least one photo of a 4R next to a yellow Mustang GT with a hole in the bumper, with a scenic parking lot for a backdrop...

Here's a creek I explored briefly the other day. Looked like I could've driven right across it to the other side.

 

Went out for a family hike and off road trip on Saturday. Finally got my baby dirty! I love all of the scenery of different parts of the country, and I admit I miss the water, snow, and trees, as I grew up in PA. The desert is beautiful in its own way and I have learned to appreciate it. This was the first time I actually used the 4x4, and I was very impressed. I drove IHC Scouts for years, and I would say that my 4R, would do everything that they can do and more, in a stock configuration. I know that A/T tires are in my future for sure, but I am not 100% convinced that I need to scrap the stock suspension. Perhaps just a leveling kit, as I am not a fan of the factory rake. I suppose it depends on what I plan on doing. I am also on the fence on my ORP wheels. I do love the TRD Pros, but it seems that literally everyone has them. Happy Easter Everyone!

Beautiful scenery! Like you, I saw no need to scrap the stock suspension (springs, anyway), as I opted for the Eibach Pro Truck Sport struts & shocks to pick up the front, and have no plans to replace the OR wheels. I did pick up some AT tires, though, just because one of my oem Dunlops got ruined, and was expensive to replace...

 

I am increasingly leaning toward the Eibach setup also. Almost pulled the trigger the other day at about 685.00!

Out exploring Eastern Washington

 

First time getting off-road in the 4Runner! Couldn't be happier.
Sock Fox suspension did pretty well in that first picture. It was a bit more steep and technical than the picture appears to be, with a sharp dropoff into a stream just on the other side. Going in the other direction, my bumper got a small scratch but no worries, it was fun!

 

Stock Runners are VERY capable.

 

How's the wind drag on that hatch-mounted TV antenna on the highway?

 

They FINALLY opened some Forest so we could get out! Got to play with the RC plane and try out the new Campsite Street Light

 

Last couple of weekends in the Co. We got the TRD Pro end of Apr to get out and explore this great state.

 

Not sure it’s scenic but interesting.

Definitely a budget friendly rack. I've thought about one too. Ultimately, I'd love a full length Gobi, but that's probably more rack than I'd actually use. Another option I've been considering is the Nfab basket. Have you seen this one? It's a couple hundred buck off on this site right now. I know nothing about the legitimacy of this site, however.

I've seen that NFab before and I don't care for the looks of it.
I do like the fact it is aluminum though.

 

Thanks. Like nimby said, it is the Rola. I like it well so far. I know that the reviews are hit and miss, but ours has not shown any defects in the paint. I haven’t actually used it to carry anything yet, but I like knowing it’s there if I need to. I also preferred the shape of the Rola to most of the other baskets.
