OK Folks, I thought it might be nice to have a thread that is dedicated to ONLY Good News.

I have a couple of things:

My buddy, who lost his job when the virus shut down his hotel, just got hired by a business within walking distance of his apartment.

I have a RSG front skid plate for my 4Runner coming this week.

Biopsy results indicate that I do NOT have cancer.

Looks like my daughter and her fiance WILL be able to get a license and get married this June as planned. (Might be a tiny ceremony but we can have the big one next year if necessary.)

    What else you got???

We brought home a new member of the family this week. Oh and Great News on the the No Cancer! I had a scare last year that made me re-think a lot of things.

This is a great time to get a puppy. You can really spend time with it and get it trained up. I have three dogs. I love dogs.

I’ve gotten back in touch this week with several dear friends that I haven’t communicated with in over a year or two, simply because life had become so busy for everyone.

funny thing... I talked to my mom tonight and she said the exact same thing! She’s talking to her old college roommates!

@rkwfxd Congrats on the biopsy! Good idea for a thread too.
I made a roll of Scott 1000 sheet last a month. Umm, I do wash my backside every day regardless.
I've lost 5 lbs conserving food and money.
No one I know in my county is Covid positive. Just over 200 cases/no deaths here, so good news there.
My 3 AGM batteries are getting more attention than they can stand now, instead of sitting at the airport for weeks at a time. Installed a voltage booster in my 4th gen, waiting on one for the 5th gen.
Cleaned some rust and repainted 2 of my roof rack brackets that were bubbling up pretty bad.
Finally took my never opened chinese made Solar panel out of a month long quarantine, it seems to work pretty well.
(sidebar: Would love to see some manufacturing come back to the Americas).
Oh and I'm practicing my welding which I'm not very good at yet.

    Woo Hoo!!!

This is all great stuff. Let's keep it going.

I have a bad knee ---- wait how is that good news? Hear me out. So since we are stuck in the house for the most part I have changed my workouts to mostly stationary bike and weights. I mix it up and do kind of a cross fit ish thing. Anyway over the course of the past few weeks I was feeling pretty good so I thought I would risk jogging on the tread mill. IT WORKED!!!! I have been able to jog for several minutes at a time, multiple times and work it into my routine with NO PAIN!!!!! I have not been able to run in years and it is a blessing the be able to start up again.

I've also used this time to work on my Baja Bug Project that has been neglected for far too long.

Again, let's keep it going. This is great stuff to read every day - people getting betty, or not even being sick, folks getting projects done, reconnecting with friends and family, helping out our furry friends...

    Good stuff

Great to hear, now lets hear more about this...

I've also used this time to work on my Baja Bug Project that has been neglected for far too long.

I have one that runs, but needs final work, paint etc.. Here is a pic.

    Buggies are awesome.

I bought a non-running 64 project years ago with the idea that I would build a cool little street bug. But the more I got into it the more I realized it was just hammered. So I cut the front and rear and I am currently fitting up the kit. I have a mid travel beam for it and I am converting it to IRS. It is basically a shell right now.

Good reminder for me. By buddy is building a buggy. I need to reach out to him and see how it is going.

My project would probably be a great candidate for a buggy build but I want a roof to protect my noggin from the sun and locking doors for runs to the store etc....

Week before last I managed to pick up an 8mm socket for a ratcheting screwdriver in my front left tire (3k miles on these), which the tire store determined rendered the tire unusable...good news, you say? Well, considering 1 new Dunlop tire was $258, and a set of 4 Falken Wildpeak AT3 tires with trading the Dunlops in was $558, the Runner is now sporting 4 new AT tires, which were way down on the list of wants two weeks ago.

Thank you. I only ended up with an extra used 8mm socket, though, no wrench. I have plenty, though.

I'm starting a two month furlough Friday. Good news! I have enough PTO saved up so I won't be losing money and we keep benefits. Paid vacation, baby! Of course, the honey do list is long, but this is a good news thread, so I won't talk about that.

I'm still working but the wife is working from home. And all of a sudden there is tons of things she wants "changed" around the house.

It has now been 2 1/2 months since I retired and according to a coworker, I made the right decision. LOL. That said, wife, myself and pups are all doing good. Bad news, I saw what was perhaps the worst James Bond movie I had ever seen the other night: The Man With The Golden Gun. Moonraker was also bad but it was a fun bad. Golden Gun was just horrible.

@trlhiker I'm on a Bond Marathon too. All free on Amazon prime video. I'm on licence to kill. Loved You Only Live Twice the most. Anything pre 1979 was awesome. Not a fan of Moonraker. Too much influence from Star Wars.

My aluminum roofs on house and garage are holding up well. Hoping (cross my fingers) a tree doesn’t fall on them. I’m still paying on the loan, they are insured though. But who wants that headache. I got to get an arborist out862E5953-6D8B-4ED3-A969-0FFE264A3BC8.jpg here....
