Paint day. Hoping the rain holds off. Tropics are starting to fire up, so this might be quick day.

Pearl feelin Devilish Tonight. Bumper only weighs 55 lbs with the skid plates. Pretty happy with that as it's not much more than the stock one with the plastic cover. The Shrockworks on my 5th gen with the Super Winch is around 250 lbs.

Waiting on header hardware so I used up some paint I had laying around. Before and after....light bar and 2 more pods don't hurt either.

Doug Thorley Header install going slow but steady. Thought I was going to have to pull the 2UZ, but I'm getting in there and throwing caution to the wind. Taking my time to keep the frustration factor to a minimum though. Took the secondaries out to free up some access under there. Had pretty good luck with Sea Foam Deep Creep getting everything loosened up. Titanium hardware has 12 point nuts, so a standard 6 point socket won't work. Had to use a wrench to reach most of them anyway.
    20200201_124811.jpg
Got the passenger side of the 2UZ jacked up and the heat shield off.
    20200204_085723.jpg
A little tight in there even with the motor lifted up.
    20200204_085602.jpg
Everything broke free relatively easy, passenger side OEM is out!
    20200204_161017.jpg
Now to clean with some emery cloth and get the Titanium installed.20200204_123828.jpg
Passenger side is hanging, now to get the Oil and Trans dip sticks bent just right.
    20200204_160426.jpg
The Oil tube gave me a bit of a challenge. I started out trying to use it's old path but realized my mistake, got some sleep, and got it sorted out in the am.
    20200205_092344.jpg
Some of the studs are really hard to reach to install the nuts.
    20200205_092905.jpg
So I came up with a little trick that helped a lot. A small piece of Gaffers tape worked wonders.
    20200205_093153.jpg
Driver side is hanging now, and the clearance on the steering shaft is pretty good. All the header bolts are tightened up and it's on to the rest of the exhaust this morning. 20200205_192945.jpg

Those are damn sexy. Good work!

You're going to have to record some audio as soon as you have it all put together.

Looks sick. Were those lower control arms stock length (apologies if it was mentioned already)?

Stock length, but they require 1.25" wheel spacers, so the stance is a tad wider than stock.

I have the y pipe installed as well so I don't have cats. So with an old school Thrush muffler that was already on the truck, it has a drone that reminds me of a diesel trans brake growl between 2k to 2.5k rpms. Above that it sounds amazing. Planning on some high flow cats and a Vibrant performance 3" in/out muffler soon. I've tried some phone audio but the quality sucks.

@nimby Lol yea. Listen to this video on a stereo and it's close to what the level is in the cab. Highway cruise with 3:73s is at a good frequency though.
I'm building this truck for beast mode anyway, so being a little loud is a good thing lol.
I'll never be able to afford a lot of power out of this thing, but I would love to ruin a Raptors day just once lol. When I put 4:56 gears and some King bumps on there, it will be pretty formidable for a stock length front suspension.

Here's the most recent of my three ladies. I wish I could dump a lot more money into the 88' (Granny), she could be a daily with some AC and TLC. 20200218_163455 - Copy.jpg

Yea unfortunately I'm surrounded by it lol. Yea my ladies are good trucks. The 1st gen "Granny" as I call her has a lot of potential. The frame is really solid with no rust and no major rust on the body except for the usual windshield spot the size of a quarter. I'm sure there is more under there, but over all she is a clean truck. Runs good too, I've had her doing 75 mph and she was humming. She's been sitting quite a bit lately, and she don't deserve that. https://www.youtube.com/embed/N_lkxedOdAk
