At least get a Toyota hat. Last dealer said he was at rock bottom and said he couldn't give me a free cap. I said no worries, I snapped a pic of your deal and already texted another sales guy that said he would beat by $100 and toss in a hat. (I lied but salesmen lie for a living).... I got my hat

I'd say you did pretty good.
Are you fixing to build this one up too?

There are probably some great financing deals available right now. Might as well take advantage of it!

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
Installed a Smittybuilt model 2763 Storage Vault today. 4Wheel Parts had them on sale for $242.85 shipped.

Price is back up to $280.49 + tax with free shipping:
    https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/smittybilt-rear-lockable-storage-box-2763/_/R-DSBP-2763

I mounted it so it's offset allowing me to put water next to it.
    Water.jpg
It came with 3 L brackets that I drilled holes for. These are attached to 3 of the 4 tie downs:
    Connections.jpg
I can get all my recovery / survival gear in there:
    Smittybuilt Truck Box 2763 Packed.jpg

I'm happy with it. Price is right and it's sturdy. Should prevent heavy objects from hitting me in an accident. Plus prevent smash and grab.

Thank you. I want to eventually go with a front bumper and high clearance kit but now isn't the time. I have been thinking about cutting the front bumper about 2" below the factory line, about like you did, that way I know I'll be plenty safe when the I do eventually pick up the new kit. I think this is going to be a project for me maybe next weekend. Have to pull the front bumper to swap in the new headlights so may as well do it all at once.

That angle almost looks like an optical illusion. At first glance it looked like the tire is on the outside the front bumper, like wheel tire is not installed and it’s leaning against the bumper, but it’s still bolted on and installed.

I can zoom in and see the edge trim, thanks. Just what I wanted to see.

In zooming in, I see the large bushing around the sway bar - is that where you disconnected the links (both sides?), and where you had a bit of a time orienting the bushings to reattach the sway bar?

I like the beer can bumper ornament.

    Cool.

Yes, you are correct. That is the part we disconnected, and fought with the bushings.

KDSS can be a pain. Disconnect the bar at the control arms at ride height and then install your lift. Makes alignment easier when done.

We waited until it was on the lift to disconnect it. Maybe that's why we struggled to get it back together. I'm not noticing any lean, and have no warning lights, though.

You won't have any issues, just a pain to line everything back up is all.

So you're saying it's less of a pain to disconnect the swaybar brackets where they attach to the lower control arms, rather than the links to the swaybar up above, and that will allow the lift installation afterwards? And, easier to reconnect?

Yep, exactly. Sway bar stays in the OEM location that way. Simply jack up under the control arms after lift install to line them back up with the sway bar and done.

Yeah, leave it alone. No reason to mess with it at all. I installed a 2.5" front - 2" rear lift spacer kit a couple weeks ago for a customer with KDSS and there were no issues at all. Used a spring compressor in the back of course which made it nice and simple. What lift are you installing?

One of three options. Currently looking at Eibach front struts and rear shocks with the front set @ .86, no lift in rear. OR, front @ 1.6, 3/4" rear spacer. Then there's the option of adding front & rear Eibach springs to make the full Pro Truck lift.

Leaning toward option 1 currently, but weighing my options if I go taller.
