    Hello everyone,
We just bought a new 2015 4Runner three weeks ago. I have noticed that the brake pedal vibrates for a few seconds almost every time I push it, regardless of how much force is used (it even does it in park). Does anyone know why this happens? I typically wear flip flops so I admit that I am more sensitive to the vibration than someone who wears better shoes. My husband says he doesn't feel it (again, I think it is because he wears real shoes or work boots). Any ideas? My husband is a mechanic, so no need to use easy language. Technical terms are fine.

Mine started doing the same thing a few days ago. Took it up the mountain to the snow and when I got back it's been doing this. I'm highly sensitive as well so I gave it a couple days thinking I was being overly sensitive but now that I see this and several other inquiries on the internet I'm a little worried. It's always had a spongy sort of squeak when applying the brake. That, I guess, is normal for the 2015 4Runner. The vibration however is new. I saw on another website that it could be the antilock system not disengaging when it should. Air in the brakelines?? I don't know. I just know that with only 6000 miles on it, I shouldn't be worried about ANYTHING. I hope we figure it out.

I have vibration on the brake pedal as well. Took it to the dealer and of course they didn't feel it. It isn't happening as often but it still happens and is annoying as no vehicle has ever done that.

I took mine to the dealer directly after I wrote that post. Toyota, (even though they weren't sure what was going on with it) kept my car over the weekend. It's now Tuesday and they haven't released it to me. They said there is a factory defect in the brake system. Brake booster Master Cylinder is what they referred to it as. Cherie, I would persist! Though I LOVE Toyota and am not shaken in loyalty because of this situation... By the way they are treating it at my dealership, it appears to be a pretty serious problem. Better safe than sorry. Make them check the brake booster if nothing else just to "humor" you. The brakes are nothing to play with. I hope your dealership gives you the respect you deserve to just listen to your concern. MAKE them check.

I got it back last night and the dealership was not very detailed in their explanation. Only said it was the Brake Booster Master Cylinder. They replaced it and so far I haven't felt the vibration at all. I hope it was just a freak thing and this isn't the kind of thing I'm going to have to face as long as I own it. I really love my 4Runner and I've always been loyal to Toyota. But this situation has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Are you still not seeing any vibration since the brake booster master cyclinder was replaced?

No. Everything has been perfect since that was done. It's been a week now and I drive it every day.

I am having the same issue. Brand new 2016. Could you please give me the details of what the dealership replaced? Or do you mind sharing the name of the dealership?

Yes. I traded in my 2015 for a 2016 and I still the vibration when I brake. Doesn't happen all the time but still something I feel.

OK so I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2016 Trail Premium and I have to have the brakes fixed. What kind of crap is that? Is Toyota slipping, they have had a lot of recalls lately.
Maybe I should spend my 40 grand somewhere else.
