No telling. No one even knows for sure when the next gen comes out. Might be 2022 or 2023.

Most likely there will be a hybrid option. Doubtful there will be a full electric.

Might have the smaller 3.5L, but if they go that route, my guess is they pair that with a turbo.

    Maybe an 8 speed trans.

    Still body on frame.

No V8, diesel, or straight axel in the front, but like I said, we don't know anything........so the fanbois can keep clutching this wet dream like an old lady clutches her pearls.

Were hoping to see if Toyota will release anything at the Feb 8th Chicago Auto Show.

I’ve been following the leaks for the next gen Tundra. Supposedly a hybrid or V6 twin turbo option that gets 30mpgs. This auto show should release something.

    Currently stock; MODS coming soon.
3.5 V6 and 3.5 Hybrid most likely, with 6 spd. As far as looks, not a lot of changes, my guess is a front grill and headlight shape change.

I think that info is pretty much spot on from all the leaks, news, updates I’ve been hearing and watching from all the YouTubers and bloggers who’ve been following the next gen Tundra and posting info from their reliable sources.

Same, multiple sources stating the info so it’ll most likely lean that way. 4 more days to see if Toyota has anything at the Chicago auto show.

I just don't believe that 420 HP/30 MPG claim. Toyota will never put that kind of horsepower in the 4runner. There is no reason for it.

And, the Highlander doesn't even get 30 MPG.

Edit: I see it's a Hybrid, but I still highly doubt those power numbers.

Not the 4Runner. Going in the Tundra, and also looks like the LC

I didn't realize that. In that case, I believe the power part, but still not the MPG.

And, he says a diesel option. I guess that could help them compete in the work truck market. We'll see..

Until Toyota officially releases something its all speculation and hearsay. My guess is that 30mpg rating is the best mpg the “hybrid” Tundra will get. Real world mpg’s will probably be like 23-25mpgs

I do think the 3.5L will probably make it into the 4Runner, but like you said, the TT HP would be overkill. Because so many complain about the gutless feeling of the 3.5L in the Tacoma and the fact that the 4Runner is heavier, I think they might put a single turbo in the 4.

I can't imagine the 4runner with that 3.5. It's not bad with the 4.0, but I sure wouldn't want to LOSE power. A turbo could definitely help.

Or the 4.6 out of the LX. That would be very easy to do.

One thing that I would bet on is that it will be smaller displacement than 4.0
