    Hey guy's
    I have a 1985 4runner with the 22re engine.
A few question I have is. Does any one have the engine wiring diagram with wires colors?
And I pulled the driver seat out and found wires not plugged in to any thing?
    any info is appreciated thanks.

p.s the 4runner hasn't ran in 20 some year when I got it.
it was in pieces. Engine trans and transfer case has been rebuild.
so I'm in the process of putting it all back together.

Thanks yotagreg8888. That makes sense. I don't think I have the center console but will look for one.

I think I might have some spare switches for the center console. I will look when I get home.

The only thing I could find is a window lock switch, cruise control and a couple antenna switches.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
I have manual transmissions, one for a 4Runner, one for a 2WD Pickup. The only wires on the 4Runner are one for the reverse lights, one for the 4WD light on the dash panel.
There are plugs on the end of each that match up with a pair of plugs that come down from the engine's wiring harness.
    Does this help at all?
    Pat☺

I just ripped all that wire out not too long ago but wasn't really paying attention as to where it originated. I know my Tacoma harness came from the engine bay for the trans and O2's.

I have been trying to upload pic's. But for some reason it wont let me or I forgot how too?
And I have a questions. I'm looking for the thermostat housing for the 22re engine. the one I have is for the 22r and wont fit the 22re. when I got the 4runner from my in laws every thing was in box's.
does any one know where I can find one. I'm going to the dealer ship tomorrow after work to pick up some parts for the 4runner and will see if I can get one from them. Thanks

When you go to get a thermostat don't go to Autozone go to LCE Engineering...they have the one with the small bypass hole which works Great!!! I put in a "normal" thermostat and what would happen my 22 REC would spike up and then settle down to a normal temp...when I put in the LCE thermostat it climbs up slowly and evens out nicely...there is a difference

My plans 4 it is to get it up and running. and make it my daily driver. then up grade it when I have the money.
In the summer time I will be taking it off road and camping and hunting from time to time.
I will be keeping it along with my 47 ford pickup and my 61 Econoline pickup.
Thanks for the info on the thermostat NightOwl all info is good info. after I get it running I still have to work on the front and rear diff and steering. I'm hopping to be driving it by mid summer:burnrubber:
