What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Ah I didn't realize it was a limited. Nice job changing bumpers. I hate the limited from the outside.

 

I hated the limited looks but liked full time 4x4, keyless entry, push start, dual climate, leather TRD look.

 

Yea the grocery wagon model ugh

 

I just don't like the bumpers and massive side plastics. The 10-13 was even worse IMO

 

Dont forget the 20 in wheels gag

I've actually seen some 5th gens with 20s, lifts, and mud tires, and they look pretty good. The OEM Limited wheels and pizza cutters tucked way into the fenders are horrible though.

I actually like the narrower track. Gives a different feel to the road.

 

I guess you could call it a SR5 Limited now?

I washed it today, I almost bought the Ray 10's but I'm happy with the Sr8's.

Thank you, my 3 top choices were cement grey(which they dont make for 2019) red and voodoo blue which is such a badass color but the voodoo blue isnt available in the trim I could afford so Barcelona Red was meant to be I guess lol

 

Added factory crossbars this afternoon. Easy peasy. Had them on in about five minutes after I gingerly removed the rear end caps. Hadn’t taken those off and didn’t want to break anything.

$140+tax. I’d read you could mail order them cheaper from a dealer in New England. But after shipping costs, holiday delays, etc., it was just as easy to pop down to the dealership and buy them across the counter.

 

To all you Gen 5.2 Limited haters ... PISHA! 'Til I saw the Limited Night Shade, was tryin' to figure out how to get rid of all that chrome. I guess I'm one of the very few that doesn't like the "jhouls" on the front of the others. HAH! What did I do today ... drove down my half mile of gravel and talcum powder road to get to pavement. Got a nice splattering of mud up the sides of my "mall crawler". BTW, It does just fine in snow, ice, slush and mud. Just like ALL 'Runners.

Granted, the semi donk 20's aren't my favorites, but they were on the truck when I bought it and with the 265/60's almost look kinda kool ... almost. HAH

Oh, and the Magnuson super charger had a lot to do with the purchase. HEH!

Got mine at Toyota of Brookfield. In and out in a few minutes.

 

Nice! I haven't been in there since it was Jack Safro. I test drove a Celica GTS there in January or February of 2000.

 

I added a 2nd smart key since my car only came with one. I was surprised how easy it was to program. Got the cable and Techstream software from Amazon.

 

Downloaded the remote app and got my keyfob case

I think so. Im new to the 4runner world and not 100% if previous years had this. I was surprised my keyfob had the remote engine start too.

 

I only got the crossbars so I could put up a rooftop cargo carrier for holiday travel. I have other roof rack plans, but this was $1000 cheaper for the short term.

 

Have you bought a cargo carrier yet?

I have a big ass Yakima Sky box I've been thinking about selling. I put it on my Tacoma for a few weeks to keep my fishing rods in. Then I took it off and it hasn't been used since.

If I recall, it's over 7' long.

The remote control features are only available with the premium audio package. So pretty much limited to the TRD Pro and Limited. You are looking for the "remote connect" feature.

 

It wasn't actually "today". These were installed Friday. Along with window tint 25% front 18% for the rest.

 

Was that a kit for blacking out the letters? How is the quality? Can you post a link?

 

This is the OEM kit which, IMO, is way too expensive but the fit and finish is perfect. Bought online at McGeorge Toyota in Richmond, VA. This kit is for the SR5 and the actual SR5 logos are not fully laser cut. They leave black plastic in between some spots of the letters. Pretty common with OEM and knock-off overlays.
