I watched a bunch of hard working , dirt covered , men get out of a 4 door company truck and enter local market. Most of them bought the same type items. Lotto tickets , beer , cigarettes , and a cheap pair of gloves. Forty dollars worth of Lotto tickets?????? Really. Isn't that a tax on stupid or poor ? I get it. It's their right and we live in the USA , but really isn't that sorta sad?

I think the music has stopped for us all.

NOPE. I doubt you are getting that dirty anyway. I just see it as sad. On your side of the talk , they could just as well have gotten under a tree and gambled it anyway. In this country we have the right to self destruct , I guess maybe it should be that way. But still , it's sad to ME.

I tend to buy lottery tickets when I'm extra stressed out at work. I know I probably won't win, but there's always that outside chance.

Incidentally, I think I'll buy some lottery tickets tomorrow:rolleyes:

I never buy lotto tickets... EXCEPT when someone in front of me in line buys a bunch of the same scratch off ticket.. I'll buy 1 of that same scratch off ticket... My thought process at that point is I'm not betting I'll beat the lotto, I'm betting my luck is better than the person in front of me LOL

Judge me I don't care... I'm normally there getting beer :D:cheers::D

I knew a guy that would walk in and buy a whole roll of tickets. Never would win anything. But hey they make great Christmas gifts...

If you're going to play you might be interested in this information . I saw a guy digging into a trash bin on the sidewalk where the entrance is located to the market that sells lotto tickets. I thought he lost something and asked if I could help. He said I do this all the time. I asked why. He had won $8k and was told he would have to pay taxes but e could deduct all the expences including old lotto stubs where he did NOT win. He had a fist full of old stubs people had thrown away. GOOD LUCK.

I get stuck behind people all the time while they take 10 minutes picking different tickets, like they have some damn master strategy. I just wanna get my damn Reeses' and get home. Best one was the guy who got out of a rusty Datsun, blew 50 bucks on malt liquour and lottery tickets, all the while griping about how the government keeps him poor.

The local news has reported big problems with workers going in together and buying a bunch of tickets and winning but couldn't agree with the split. LOL

I buy a Powerball ticket once every couple of months. I see some people buying bunches of scratch offs and lottery tickets at a time and I think it's sad, but, it's their money.

Years ago I used to buy Lotto tics because it was "supporting the schools" until I found out that it doesn't.
Stupid me, shoulda stayed in school.
Nowadays I buy every once in a while when it's up in the $$$ millions. Who knows, if I didn't buy a raffle ticket to win a Jeep, I'd still be Jeepless.

Since California has had the lotto, I’ve “made” over $1,800 by not buying any lotto tickets (“a penny saved is a penny earned” Ben Franklin).

    I buy lottery tickets occasionally.

I think it's funny when the jackpot gets super high and everyone starts loading up on tickets.

The minimum Powerball jackpot is $40 million. I know that with the lower lump-sum payout and taxes, you probably wind up with 10-15, but that's still a shitload of money!

I could retire easily on $2 million. On 3-4, I could retire in style!

If you were walking on a beach and found a 5 carat diamond ring you could do the same thing. That's not likely to happen . BUT ...if you did you could retire in style. It doesn't hurt t dream and wish.

I definitely spend too much time thinking about what I would do if I won the lottery.:D

Especially since I only buy Powerball a few times a year. Maybe I'll hit a gas station on the way home today:rolleyes:
