My son is small (4 years) so I wouldn’t be doing any fast wide open trails. I usually ride my ATV in upstate NY, Pennsylvania Coal country, and Vermont which all is typically very rocky and twisty. I was looking at the Can Am 50inch but dang they are expensive 15k. I have a few friends with Polaris machines and after the problems they have had I don’t think I could ever by one. I love my Yamaha’s but they don’t make a 50 inch. Thanks for the info!

I looked at the Can Am and really, really wanted it; it was like climbing into a new Corvette compared to getting into a 70's pickup compared to the Pioneer. But... Not only is it expensive, but it is significantly longer than the Pioneer and I discovered a lot of trails that it couldn't have gone on that my Pioneer easily navigates. The longer wheelbase makes some of the tighter trails with switchbacks and whoopdedoos impossible to get through.

Bone stock, I was even scraping bottom on some obstacles and having to make 3-point turns to get around...

    IMG_20180727_112658821.jpg

The above trail is a super popular ride up to a Forest Service lookout that the Can-Am couldn't have made it to. The only other UTV I've seen up there was a RZR 570 and the owner came over to check out my Pioneer because he was fed up with his year old Polaris breaking down and showed me where the rear plastic rack was warped and melted from the exhaust and Polaris refused to warranty it.

I highly encourage you to go to a great Honda forum and get more input. They are a great bunch and very friendly... https://hondasxs.com/forums/general-pioneer-500-discussion.87/

Don’t forget Suzuki invented the four-wheeler. And they hold the land-speed record. And the GSXRR is winning Moto GP races!!

I rode a Suzuki 250 quad out at the desert, I was stoked. Of course I had been riding 3 wheelers up until then. Then Honda came out with the 250R quad, needless to say I was in. My friend and I were # 10 & 11 on the list. When we got them you could hardly get us out of the seat. Many years later Honda came out with the 400 EX. We were both in, yep we were desert rats for probably 40 yrs. I have great memories of those days. Anywho back to reality.

I love it here but my neighbors are burning trash again. And the main road smells like shit. Guess they have a wastewater problem..

Whatever. Why don’t you go ride your Honda and scare all the game off. No wonder you’ve never tagged anything.
I saw it on the news public water is cancerous...

    Wow!
I think he means "mother in law" when he says MIL.
This is no reason for an argument. It is a simple misunderstanding.
I hope she can recover. We have 2 members of the family very ill.
Best wishes to you & your family.

It was two Sportsman’s and I forgot what CC they were. They were both plagued with electrical issues.
Suzuki King Quads are really nice reliable atv’s. That would absolutely be my second choice if I couldn’t get a Yamaha Grizzly 700. You really can’t go wrong with a Yamaha, Suzuki, or Honda utility ATV. Honda’s are the most archaic but for the most part they are bomb proof.

Hope I didn’t offend anyone. I get pissy when my neighbors burn trash or when the marines call in fire missions with the 155 mm howitzer. I feel sorry for the kids around there. I’m up town now. Loving life ready for the World Series here at home...

Parked beside the floating dock ramp at my father's Suwanee river property... The overcast day makes it ALMOST appear like we have a REAL Fall season here in Florida.

Its called RollMeOver - Inclinometer 4X4, by DriveHard for Android phones.
You can configure several ORV types, including Jeeps, 4R, etc. Set limits for Roll / Pitch with/without alarms.

Everybody's bringing their A game this fall!!! Nice trips everyone! This was us crashing the Tacoma guys at TepuiFest this year! Top of Hollister Hills! I had to take the pics with the other "wives/passengers". I usually do the driving but it is the wife's car and she decided to drive this time and she tore the trails up! Super proud of her, it is her car after all! Haha!

Note: now I can't be blamed for all the scratches... YES!!!!!!
